An eccentric genius forms an international network of super-geniuses to act as the last line of defense against the complicated threats of the modern world.
So now that I finally got around to watching the pilot, let’s talk about how much I like this show. I won’t drop the “L” – bomb just yet, but I really liked it a lot. It’s very similar to the on again off again show Breaking In, but in drama form. I liked Breaking In, but I definitely think that this is a better show. The characters are great! They’re funny, interesting, well developed, and can get on your nerves – just like real people. The story telling is great. They tell you what you need to know, when you need to know, but never feel like they’re saying “hey audience this is because you won’t know what we’re talking about if we don’t explain it.” I think the way they did that is great. The show deals with a lot of math, science, technology, and topics that most people don’t know, so they introduced a character that also doesn’t know so everything has to be explained to her. When the explaining is done to her, it’s also done to the audience. It’s a win win. I love the concept of the people on the show being geniuses, because some of my favorite TV characters are *cough* Bones.
So far, I think the show works. I think it’s worth checking out and it’s worth your time.
