I believe in the sun, even if it isnât shining.
I believe in love, even when Iâm alone.
I believe in God, even when He is silent.
Okay but I still donât understand how people can look at the Bible, even the books of Judges and all the prophets, and not see Godâs love. Like⌠itâs there yâall are just ignoring it, God doesnât want to send deathly judgement on his people, He loves them and gives them chance after chance to come back to Him. Yâall just want excuses to say God isnât loving and patient and glory-filled and perfect and amazing so you have an excuse to sin
Okay but still i donât understand how a person can look at the suffering and famine, the floodings and natural catastrophes, the death of infants because of these things. The epidemics and poverty. The wide spread hate, racisim, sexism and lgtbq+-phobia in church. The child molestasion and abuse.
And yet belive that god loves everyone.
If god even exist, he only loves the rich and wealthy and not all the people dying of drought in africa, the people living on literal dumps in bangladesh, the people killed because theyâre gay or because they look âdangerousâ in a good, white, christianâs eyes.
If god would exist there would be no suffering like this. I cannot see godâs love when i see his hate.
@walolwizard hereâs the thing: God doesnât hate, but sin has taken over the world. Satan is the Prince of this world right now and will be until God returns. God is in control; Satan has won the battle right now, but God already won the war when he sent Jesus to die on the cross for us. So yes, God allows sin and sad and bad things to happen, but he allows good to come out of any and all sin and bad circumstances when we hand it over to Him.
The church is called to help those who are poor and starving throughout the Bible; natural disasters increasing in number and severity is a sign of the times and of Jesusâ return getting closer; when God takes babies so young, yes, it hurts, but they get to go to heaven without knowing the sins and pain of this world! How horrible for their parents, but if their parents have faith they know they get to see them again and that their babies arenât suffering! Hate is not what God does; he is against it. Read the book of Habakkuk in the Bible; he was livid with his people, yet he still offered them a way out because He loved and always loves his children and doesnât want to punish them. Godâs punishment always ultimately brings peace and redemption for those who choose to see Him in it.
Sexism is wrong; men and women are meant to be different but equal and that is extremely biblical, no question. The way the world views this is so screwed up, and itâs led to a lot of problems in todayâs world. Rape is wrong; there are actually a couple instances of it in the Bible and God disapproving of it (I canât remember references, if someone could point those out that would be amazing). I was sexually abused multiple times as a child, and although Iâm still a long shot from fully healing emotionally and forgiving my abuser, I can say that that horrible circumstance has brought me closer to God and taught me more about His precious and unending love than most other things I have experienced.
And itâs true, being gay is sinful; however, you are right that some people in the church say horrible and threatening things that only increase the tension between the lgbt+ and church communities. That is wrong; we are called to gently but truthfully point out sin while letting love intertwine in that. @john15-10 does a good job of this a lot of the time, especially recently. And people who are wealthy? They actually have a harder time serving and relying entirely on God because they have more worldly things to rely on. Look up some of the interviews from the book/bible study âI am nâ; those people are some of the most joy filled people Iâve ever seen even though theyre in some of the worst circumstances on earth. Happiness/wealth/lack of earthly illness/etc =/= joy in God.
However, just because we are Christians doesnât mean weâre perfect. Weâve all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. No matter our race, gender, wealth, country of origin, ethnicity, or history, no one is perfect and we all deserve hell but we have a God who is willing to give us so much more than that. God tells us in the Bible that because of sin, there will be suffering until the end of the times. However, He will never bring anything upon anyone that He cannot ultimately use to bring them joy.

âChild of God, you cost Christ too much for him to forget you.â
â Charles Spurgeon
Your closest relationships should draw you closer to Christ, not distract you away from Him.
God loves you.
Always
God first.
Do nothing that you would not like God to see. Say nothing you would not like God to hear. Write nothing you would not like God to read. Go no place where you would not like God to find you. Read no book of which you would not like God to say, âShow it to Me.â Never spend your time in such a way that you would not like to have God say, âWhat are you doing?

I desire to get married someday. I desire to have a family of my own. But I have to continually remind myself that although itâs good to desire these things, I must always desire God more. I must always desire Jesus before and above all things. I cannot lose focus of Him in the process. There is more to this life than being married and having kidsâand it is knowing Christ personally. Even if I get married someday and have kids, even then I must still desire God more. He is the foundation of everythingâthe beginning and the end.
Heâs been God a long timeâHe knows what Heâs doing.Â
Even when you canât see it. Even when you canât believe it.Â
He knows, He knows, He knows. He doesnât fall off of His throne.
Itâs so easy to trust God when things are going well, when our prayers are answered with âyesâ, and when we are on top of the mountain.
Whatâs hard is learning to trust God when the answer is no, when we are deep in the valley, and when we have absolutely no idea what we are going to do next.
Wherever you stand right now, trust Him.
Because even if not, He is still good.
