god not only is the episode and the bit hilarious. but it’s so intimate. you can see just how much they know each other - down to the little mannerisms of one another.

and just it being TROYS idea. and he went to abed because he knew he would go along with it. because he knew him.

truly never going to get over how based off canon evidence (abed dedicating an entire episode of community college chronicles (which is quite literally fanfic) to troy’s awesomeness, him viewing himself as a sort of observer or fan of the show he views their life as, his focus on troy in some of the documentary episodes) it is Reasonable To Assume that abed probably views troy as his favorite character in their hypothetical show to some degree .

like in his mind he’s just a fan he’s just watching he’s an objective observer and he doesn’t really expect to get anything out of it but then troy is equally as obsessed as he is and boom suddenly they have this allconsuming mutual friendship and abed doesn’t quite know how to deal with that because I really don’t think he ever thought troy would care abt him as much as abed cares about troy. hell, I think he still tries to position himself as the objective observer oftentimes even when theyre as close as they are in s3! and in my Personal Headcanon I have this thought that he doesn’t want to approach troy romantically because he needs to keep that distance between them because it’ll never work he’s just a fan troy is too good for him too good to exist in the real world. obviously troy would fold instantly if abed did confess and in the back of his mind abed does kind of know that but he’s so so scared

"you were out there somewhere and you weren't looking for me????" is fucking crazy by the way because it implies troy was. troy WAS looking for him. not consciously but he was. he was looking for abed his whole life. he loved abed before he even met him. he wanted him before he ever knew him.
