I love and hate how much of a team player Lando is. It shows his character and the type of person he is to put his feelings and personal results aside for the greater good of the team
But on the opposite end I don’t like how he’ll just roll over for the team when his team wouldn’t do the same for him. They take advantage of the fact that he has been at the team his whole F1 racing career and would do anything for the team’s sake. And in return the F1 audience expect the same and Oscar’s fanbase think he can just be pushed around and must be punished if it goes against the ideal #TeamOscar agenda.
It’s a sad cycle they’ve set up and this “repercussions” thing is just fueling it even more
+ if this was Charles or George saying that everyone would be up in arms about it, it’s very clear what’s going on in that team but it doesn’t count if it’s against Lando
My thoughts on this remain the same.
You CAN stand up for yourself without being a dick. The fact that Lando refuses to because he's that scared of being perceived as a dick (kinda late for that buddy, you've been allowing your team and teammate to frame you as one for 3 years now) while his teammate has spent 3 years now insinuating Lando is selfish and doesn't care about the team like he does, his teammate and team have spent 3 years (including the very weekend he was publicly grieving his grandmother) telling him he'd never be mentally strong like Oscar — like at some point Lando fans have to realize he's been made a second driver because he'll just roll over and allow people to mistreat and take advantage of him instead of standing up for himself. (I know this will piss a lot of fans off, but this is the one thing about his platform that I don't agree with and quite frankly think sends a damn awful message to his younger fans. Like, what's the message here? Give up when the person you're competing against starts whining because they can't accept you're better than them? Give up because a narcissistic asshole boss tells you to?)
