BULLET POINT BIO.

she was raised by single mom after dad left when she was 11. her dad was cheating with her aunt (her mom’s sister) and when it was exposed, it was quite the town scandal. 

lex is the youngest of five siblings. (pretty much) all of her siblings grew up to be successful in something practical, like doctors, engineers, etc. 

grew into the “black sheep” role rather early on. a rebellious artist with a vulgar streak, lexi was never her mom’s favorite. she tried her best, and lexi knows now that she was hard to parent, but she still hold resentment in her heart for the mom who always wanted perfection from her and never gave her room to breathe.

as a senior in high school, lexi would have done anything to get out of irving. her english teacher suggested she enter a screenplay contest, and she won. an indie production company picked up her first film, an adaptation of kate chopin’s the awakening, and she packed her bags and moved to los angeles without a second thought. she told very few people where she was going, or that she was leaving at all, and only kept in contact with maybe one or two close friends. 

she slowly began to gain popularity in the mainstream as her film began it’s wide release, but her relationship with a young movie star is what really put her on the map, or at least on the front page of the tabloids. lexi and her boyfriend were one of hollywood’s “it” couples for two years, until it was exposed that he had been cheating on her with his costar. 

on the same night her second film, a thinly veiled coming-of-age story about her life in irving, was nominated for this year’s academy awards, her now ex-boyfriend kicked her out of their shared apartment with nothing but a suitcase to her name.

having nowhere else to go, lexi flew home and has been hiding out in irving for about a week. she’s trying to avoid anyone she knew from before she moved, terrified to find out how they felt about their portrayal in her movie.

i imagine her to be about as famous as greta gerwig. like, you’d know her if you were into movies but some rando on the street isn’t going to recognize her.

she had brunette hair before she left and dyed it blonde when she moved to hollywood, so anyone who knew her from before would notice that haha.

she was a 2014 tumblr girl and still listens to the same music she did in high school.

she grew up undiagnosed with ADHD and was formally diagnosed in la. she did okay in school but only really excelled in her english classes.

super hopeless romantic. falls in love with pretty much everyone she meets. loves hookups, but then spends the next week daydreaming about what they could have been if they lasted longer than one night.

“oh hey, darling,” lexi grinned, her shoulders bouncing with excitement as her milkshake was placed on the table. her usual, a strawberry vanilla number with extra sprinkles, looked especially appetizing. maybe, though, it was just the person that delivered it that made it extra special. “if i had known you were here, i would have asked for two straws,” she teased.

THE  INFAMOUS  GHOSTKING  OF  the  twitch  space  knew  no  bounds  when  it  came  to  producing  content,  sometimes  pushing  themselves  past  their  limits  on  days  they  could  afford  to  only  get  a  few  hours  of  sleep.  one  would  say  it  was  unhealthy,  others  would  want  to  see  how  far  they  would  go,  but  from  where  they  were  perched  on  their  workspace,  slowly  but  surely  chipping  away  at  the  last  few  minutes  of  screentime  to  their  stream  with  a  smile,  seemingly  too  focused  to  even  bother  with  the  time,  only  realizing  after  almost  falling  asleep  a  half  hour  after  their  live  ended  that  it  was  way  past  midnight,  stretching  their  limbs  out  and  making  their  way  to  the  entryway  of  their  apartment,   locking  the  door  on  their  way  out.  walking  out  of  the  building  not  a  moment  later  about  to  collide  with  somebody,  their  reflexes  stopping  them  before  doing  so,  though  it  made  their  heart  race  faster  with  the  adrenaline  now  pumping  through  their  veins.  in  spite  of  being  on  the  shorter  side,  they  apologize  profusely.  “  i’m  sorry  !  sorry,  that  was  my  bad.  i  really  didn’t  see  you  there.  ”

lexi wasn’t phased. she was used to running into people. or, almost running into people. “it’s alright, babe. not a scratch on me,” she chuckled. “where are you headed? isn’t it past your bedtime?” the blonde checked the time on her phone. she was late to a party, probably, but at least she was fashionable about it. she rocked between the heels and toes of her scuffed leather boots. “i’m goin’ out, wanna come? i know it was a wild ride last time, but trust me, i know how to handle my liquor. that, or the breakup is sort of wearing off.” her faze shifted to the floor. “it’ll be fun?”

“well, a lot of the workers at scuba live here and don’t feel like going to jail so it makes sense that they actually check,” he shrugged, tracing imaginary shapes on the countertop he leaned against. “i think apple juice is the king of all juices. it is way better than orange and any one who drinks grape juice is shady.” he shivered at the thought. “i have this moral code i like to follow and it’s exhausting being the good guy all the time. plus, i’ve been working so hard to support my aunt and i. then i have so much homework and lab research i need to complete weekly. so, i’m trying to balance all that, while trying to build a following online to stream video games i play. and then i have to keep my job as a photographer. i feel like i ran a marathon just recanting all of this to you.”

her eyes followed his invisible doodles. “the jail’s not even big enough to hold everyone that works here,” she laughed. “but i get it. it’s not fun to spend the night there.” lex lifted her head, her icy eyes warming as she listened. her hand reached out to his, an instinct, and she gave it a quick squeeze. “it sounds like you have a lot on your plate, sugar.” she took a deep breath, hoping he’d catch on and do the same. “it’s okay. i’m here to listen. tell me about this photography. what do you take pictures of? what are your muses?”

she laughed, more aware of that feeling. “i bet i could bribe mine now.” you know, if she ever made the effort to talk to them. “you like kids, then,” she assumed. “i never really understood people who willingly hung out with anyone younger than, like, 16.” the edge of her glass brushed her lips, and she looked up at him, searching his expression. she wasn’t sure if he was impressed with that information. “depends on who you ask.” some critics thought otherwise. “i get to go to the oscars this year, if that means anything.”

it was one of the rare days of the week that tessa didn’t have anything she needed to do, it was her day off of work and she hadn’t made any plans for the day. noticing that it was a somewhat decent day weather-wise outside, the blonde had decided to sit on her porch swing with her guitar in her lap; strumming along to a tune that had been stuck in her head all day. “sometimes you just don’t know the answer, till someone’s on their knees and asks you - she would have made such a lovely bride, what a shame she’s fucked in the head.” she sang softly before noticing the presence in front of her. “oh shit, sorry - how long have you been stood there?”

lexi needed to take a walk. her apartment, while a safe haven, seemed rather suffocating on such a nice day. her heart ached for a the unsettling feeling of walking through the orwell neighborhood, a place she often frequented as a teenager during bouts with writer’s block. to get there, she took a detour through the suburbs. “me?” lexi pointed to herself, though there was no one else around. “um, i’m just passing by.” she took a moment to rest, realizing she hadn’t done this much walking since she moved back home. “that’s a really nice guitar.”

           she was meant to be taking a bit of a break during her busy day, to breathe and center herself and whatever else it was that her therapist told her to try, but instead, she can’t help but to use her one hour off to do some promo for her business, figuring the serene backdrop of the cove was the perfect place to do some instastory advertising, snapping a few pics and even taking video to add to her business’ story, rambling on about what a pretty location it would be for a ceremony. she’s a bit shameless in her pursuits, well aware that people are probably wondering what she’s doing, “ can’t you just imagine it ? ” she speaks to her audience ( at least, she hopes she has an audience ), “ i know i can. and that’s why you should let me help you craft the wedding day of your dreams. ” she ends the video, turning to a person making their way down the sand. “ that wasn’t like, too cheesy, right ? ” she sighs, already pondering deleting that last video from her story, “ it totally was, wasn’t it ? ”

oh god, lexi almost muttered, but held her tongue. influencers were the last thing she expected to see in irving, and it irked her to see someone showing off her little slice of peace without consulting her first, as if it was her job to protect the town from being flooded with tourists. not that she had done a great job of that before, she thought, remembering the movie she made about growing up along this coastline. at least she changed the name, though. it wasn’t until the woman mentioned weddings that lexi tuned in to what she was saying. she and her boyfriend had thrown the idea around before he was exposed as a cheater, and what once was a frequent daydream now rang in her ears like the clang of dropping a hot pot off the stove. now she was left cleaning up the mess. lexi shrugged. “i wouldn’t know,” she answered. “you know, i never thought of getting married on the beach. i don’t think i’d like the sand in my shoes.”

there was nothing stopping the scoff that left her. “i don’t like the postwar modernism architecture structure that was popular. blocky and plain, there is nothing about it to love.” she’d always been unimpressed by the utter blandness and tackiness of the buildings she’d encountered in the united states. cecilia had always preferred the look of her mother’s italian villa to her father’s sprawling mansion. “you just moved back i take it?” eyes continued roaming around as questions flew through her mind about why anyone would come back after leaving. “let’s do it. seems like we both need to get to know this place.” she tucked a piece of hair behind her ear before turning her attention completely to the woman in front of her. the corners of her lips curved up into a smile. “i think it must be. perhaps we get takeout and eat it on the beach at sunset. that’s so romantic. i’m cecilia rutherford.” hand held out for the handshake. “if we’re going on a date, we should know each other’s names.”

“I’ve always had a soft spot for mid-century modern,” Lexi protested gently, her eyes softening as she pictured the inside of her favorite diner, the inspiration for one the best scenes in her newest film. “But it could just be because I don’t have much to compare it to.” She nodded. “Not by choice,” a sharp laugh escaped her, “but I didn’t realize how much I’d missed it until the cab pulled onto that main drag.” Lexi was surprised by the handshake, but warmly returned it. “I’m a sucker for romance. Lexi Taylor.” Lex took a quick glance at her outfit, as if she had forgotten what she threw on when she left her apartment. But her Journey Tour ‘79 tee, despite its holes and fading, was sort of unforgettable. “I promise, if I had known someone was going to ask me out today, I would have worn a fancier outfit.”

“Well, you survived,” she offered with a shrug. “Did she yell? My mom never found out, but I would have been in a ton of trouble if she had.” Lexi tipped the top of the glass towards herself, as if the sides weren’t clear enough for her to figure it out. “Vodka with lemonade, but I’ll tip you extra if you add some strawberries.” She shook her head. “Um, no, my boyfriend--” she cleared her throat, “my ex was a dick.” Lexi watched as he stole her glass, her lips turning down as she thought of how much she would miss it while it was gone. “That sounds nice. I need a distraction. Or five.”

“Oh yeah, I forgot you had to freeze your ass off outside,” Lexi grinned, the thought of a little Freddie trying to get into a bar forcing a warm laugh from her chest. She raised her glass in his direction. “Well, if you’re working, you can get me another.” Lexi tried to find a way to avoid telling the whole sad story. “LA,” she answered, running a hand through her blonde waves, “But I’m back now... indefinitely.”
