Here are some of my current interests..

Music: The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Talking Heads, Franz Ferdinand, Judas Priest, Sting/The Police, JPEGMAFIA... ALL THE BRITPOP 🇬🇧 but especially Pulp. I also love (Yugoslav) new wave and noise rock and play bass!

Recent movies: Crash (1996), Sex Lies and Videotape (1989), Death Proof (2007), Knives out trilogy. Making my way through Cronenberg's filmography and weird James Spader movies.

TV: Better Call Saul (fav show of all time), Boston Legal, House MD, The Inbetweeners, Community, Twin Peaks

I am unfortunately a huge anglophile i love britcom and getting involved in UK politics. I am also a Marxist-Leninist (lol). Recently got into LINUX!!!!

i do not want to live in the fucking panopticon fuck the camera that blinks above me at work, the tv watching me at the store, the "smile you're on camera" signs, the ring cameras, the flock cameras, the apps to track your child or partner, the activist friends telling me "just assume everything you do in public is being recorded somewhere", the government building protester databases, the teslas recording every move all around them, the knowledge that everything i type or search or save is being tracked and logged, the ads and search suggestions that mysteriously know what i was just talking about, the way biometrics keep creeping into more places, the way my car spies on me, the way my phone spies on me, the way there is nowhere to go to get away from it!!! no wonder the internet is full of vindictive little stalkers and witchhunts when it's the water and the air of society from the culture to the infrastructure

Text more or less from Jean Baudrillard's essay "Crash" (I had to mangle it a bit). Read the essay in full here. Read Ballard's reaction to the essay here (yikes!). There are a lot of interesting questions that I had to mostly leave out of the text I used. For example, should Crash be read morally? Ballard said yes in his own introduction, but Baudrillard says no.

I think everyone differs a little in how they read the sexuality in Crash. It isn't just car fetishism, but I don't think it is entirely antisexual either. It isn't abstracted to a point past understanding it as sex. I think it's interesting to read Crash as if it's revealing what sex actually is to us: it has always been abstract, always reached towards death, we're always afraid of letting the id drive but simultaneously thrilled by the possibility. I don't necessarily think the modern world is going off the rails, but there is really a truth to the fact that as our lives become more intertwined with technology, there is a potential for sexuality to balloon into abstract shapes, and I think it's fascinating. What do you think, are all the terms of a sex act substitutable? Is there a limit to what kinds of things can be sexual? Is it all just sign exchange?

This is the only post I’ll make about Taylor swift and I’ll leave it be but my problem isn’t even with her, it’s with the people that listen to her. There are so many of them and they are perfectly fine with her writing music with the sophistication of a teenager. They grow older in age but continue to accept her juvenile output year after year after year. What is going on? I don’t think there is a musician that ever had people this obsessed and yet it’s the lowest quality of writing and sonic fidelity of anyone with a comparable fan base. It’s just indicative of our decline as a human race. I’m worried sick.. The things that have been done to these peoples minds for them to accept this… I’ve been witnessing it we have been under psychic attack for generations and it has lead to this. I am now living in a world with people who have no control over their own minds anymore. It’s over… it’s really over
