“I’m not doubting your stamina, Jules. I mean you did manage to fly from LA back here and then kick dominator ass to boot. I think I’d be more surprised if you couldn’t keep,” Renee laughed. She figured if she was to get back into her former shape -not that she’d let herself go too bad- it probably wouldn’t hurt to have multiple workouts. “Oh- Uh, yeah. It has all of that. You know, with some other stuff too.” Renee couldn’t help the small smile at Julie complementing the vinyl pieces. She was rather proud of them. “Thanks, I’ve been working on the collection for a good bit now. That one’s actually a Django Reinhardt re-print. I would love an original, but this one was hard enough to get.”
Renee stopped and just stared at the younger woman for a moment, attempting to process what had just happened. This was the same woman who was on the brink of a nervous breakdown worrying that her identity may have been compromised and her siblings put at risk, and here she was offering to fly for some coffee. “Jules- uh, no. I mean, thank you but no. I would much rather prefer we just ride to the store. We can grab something to eat while we’re at it, and you can tell me what all you’ve managed to keep from Alex, Jack, and Katie…unless you don’t want my bike, of course. We can always walk too.”
“Flying is EASY, though. I mean... I'm fast, like Supergirl fast... it took LESS time than you think, but yeah... I guess it has something to do with my STAMINA, though it could also be put down to ADRENALINE. I just -- I needed to get back to my family so I think that was what PUSHED me to make the journey without stopping. I didn't do much fighting when I got back as I should have. I uh -- I WAS tired. Exhausted, actually. It's really hard to try and focus on staying alive AND making your flight stream SOLID. It's... I mean, yeah,” she stopped talking and rubbed the back of her neck as she shifted from foot to foot. “My father used to listen to Django Reinhardt when he was in his study, he said it helped him RELAX, and he seems to know a little about that kind of stuff.” She made a mental note to ask her father if he knew where to find such a record, or if it COULD be found. The mere thought of Renee's face lighting up when the thing she wanted most was placed in her hands. “They all look really great, though. I LOVE it.”
Stopping near the window, Julie slowly turned back to the woman and bit her lip. Of course, her suggestion was STUPID at best. She had been so wrapped up in helping Renee that she had COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN about the fact that she was trying to be inconspicuous when it came to her alter ego. Revealing herself when helping someone in need was one thing, but for a coffee run? She couldn't help but silently SCOFF at herself. It was like she hadn't been thinking at all. “No, no. That’s fine, we can do that. Yeah, let's do that. Sounds like a GREAT idea. I’m definitely for that,” she nodded swiftly. “Wait -- what do you mean by that? The whole keeping things from my siblings thing... I’m uh -- I’m an OPEN BOOK when it comes to them.” She bit her lip again. She may not have been as open with them lately, but that was because of something else entirely. -- Unless Renee meant about the whole revealing herself thing then yeah, she had kept THAT from them. “We should go,” Julie quickly added, making her way to the door she had entered a couple of minutes ago.
