Enjoy the sweet and crunchy churros that are baked in the air and filled with rich dulce de leche. These treats are a fun new take on an old favorite!
Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1 cup water. 2 tablespoons unsalted butter. 2 tablespoons granulated sugar. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1/2 cup dulce de leche. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1 egg. Vegetable oil for air frying. Powdered sugar for dusting.
Instructions: Put water, butter, sugar, and salt in a saucepan. Put the pan on medium heat and stir the ingredients together until the water boils and the butter melts completely. Turn down the heat and add the flour. Mix it really well until it comes together in a ball and moves away from the pan's sides. Take it off the heat and let it cool down for a while. Add the egg and vanilla extract to a different bowl and mix them together using a whisk. This mix should be added to the dough and mixed in well. Put the dough in a piping bag that has a star-shaped tip on it. Get your air fryer ready by heating it up to 375F 190C. Fill the air fryer basket with 4-inch strips of dough, leaving some space between each one. The churros should be air-fried for 8 to 10 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Halfway through the cooking time, flip them over. Take the churros out of the air fryer and give them a minute or two to cool down. Fill a piping bag with dulce de leche, and then use a long, thin tip to put a lot of dulce de leche into each churro. Sprinkle powdered sugar on top of the churros and serve them hot. Enjoy the dulce de leche churros you made at home!
