Like, you do realize his politicization of agencies laid off hordes of highly qualified scientists (and other experts) and replaced them with quacks and loyalists, right?

I keep seeing recall lists like this and imploring people to think critically about them, and every time i get ignored. this will probably be a zero note post, but idk...it's kind of bonkers to me that ppl are not recognizing patterns and the larger scheme.

I tried watching some of the bill nye thing on Netflix and uh tbh it was so bad it had me questioning wether scientists were a mistake.

#dont take this seriously it was just incredibly pretentious #if u say science is a mistake scientists will gasp but if you say scientists are a mistake they sigh and make small noises of agreement #was going to say thats true of many things #but actually if u say art was a mistake every good artist nearby will loudly agree with you #i have not had a normal sleep schedule for a while

Seth Everman was doing some Internet show. On it, he was teaching us how they make sugar in Russia. Since they can’t grow it, they pour corn syrup on a special road and have someone drive over the syrup and hit the brakes hard. Then they scrape the black stuff the tires leave on the road and sell it as sugar. Also, the person they hired as the driver was an American rapper by the name of Sweet Tooth who I checked up after waking up and learned he doesn’t exist.

This past Sunday, I was briefly at a Swedish Lutheran church for a special Lucia-themed event, it being the Sunday closest to St Lucia Day (today, 12/13). To say I felt like a Jewish spy is to simplify my often-confused feelings on faith. It was my old light-up crown that the church’s Lucia was wearing, and yet the discussions of saints made me uncomfortable and an outsider. In the past, I have tried to visually reconcile my dual-religion upbringing by depicting them in concert, together: as a dark-haired girl dressed as Sankta Lucia, a self-portrait lighting a menorah. But in this volatile age and devoid of my personal context, that would be an image of assimilation rather than reconciliation. So I suppose I’ll leave it to you to decide if these girls are lighting the same menorah or not.

Yeah we know if you /want/ to do the thing, but you just /can’t/, then that’s not being lazy. But also, it’s not lazy if you could be doing something, but there’s no repercussions (for you or anyone else) for not doing it, and you decide you’d rather just chill. Like yeah you could reorganize your bookshelf or spend some time on a language you’re studying by yourself, and that’s not a waste of time. But it’s not a bad thing to decide you really just want to watch something stupid. IMO it only becomes something bad if you can do the thing, but don’t do it, then endlessly complain about it not being done. Or if you can do the thing, but don’t do it, in a situation where it creates more work for someone else. Idk I’m rambling but my point is that taking time to relax isn’t inherently some moral fault.
