What if every time I get pissed at a comment online, I just post my response here cause I don’t want to debate someone who is gonna stand ten toes down on their wrong take.

Characters making dumb decisions does not always equal bad writing and people who equate the two every time they see it give “I learned how to critique media through CinemaSins.” Hey so… crazy concept. Stories would actually often be boring if characters always did/said the most rational thing.

Been seeing A LOT of people on TikTok say “If you hate Abby and love Joel, then you missed the point of The Last of Us 2,” which is true. But I’d argue that the same goes for the “Abby did nothing wrong and was completely justified” crowd. Like, (and I say this with love) “revenge and violence gets you nowhere” as a major theme doesn’t just apply to Ellie and Joel, y’all.

Hey, so can we stop misquoting dnp? They do use super imprecise language all the time, so I see and understand why people frequently come to differing conclusions about some things they say. However, we don’t need to edit or alter what they say to push certain narratives. I’m not trying to start drama here, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I see entire comment sections frame something as fact when it’s essentially fiction.

It reminds me of the discourse about whether Dan hard launched the relationship in BIG or not. Obviously it was eluded to in that video, but like dnp said, we didn’t KNOW anything until the hard launch video but people acted like they did and then would misquote Dan to make their point. It didn’t matter if they were right about the nature of the relationship cause they were using misinformation to get there.
