Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
Weekly Weigh-in
Current weight: 236.0 I've been in the mid 230's now rather stagnant for about a month and a half I think. I know what my issues are and how to correct them, but I keep falling short and not pulling through with said exercise and eating goals. Weekend goals: family fishing trip and getting my head on straight!
Thank goodness for Monday Night Softball
My steps at the beginning of the evening were horrendous. Luckily a double header of softball, including a couple good hits, led me to hitting my step goal as I got home just before bed! In other news, I slid into second without hurting myself, so that's a plus.
Bear Paw 5K Recap Target Goal: 35:00 Actual Run: 30:10 Well I hadn't really done a timed race in quite a while, and I think it showed with my goal time being way off... In the right direction!! I really surprised myself and felt pretty good about this run, and now I have my next goal set at sub-30 minutes. The run started out well, I felt good running while playing the dodge and weave game, and it wasn't until my mapmyrun app signaled my one mile marker that I was using much faster than I thought. It was at this point that I figured a 30 minute race was possible if I kept it up. I found a good rhythm and found a good pace group to make sure I stayed with, which helped because the second mile felt like it took forever. The third mile felt better, except for a steady incline back to the main road that left my legs feeling worked right towards the end. Once I got off the incline however, I turned the corner and saw the finish line, and finished up with a last tenth of a mile that I was cooking pretty good on, which surprised me with the energy and speed I still had, which felt great! Fun race, saw the family cheering me on, and then finished in time to still watch the whole parade with them so overall it was a great day!
Sweaty Selfie! Made it to the gym for a lunch hour treadmill session. If I really get crazy I should start waking up earlier and go before work so I'm not as time crunched... But that seems like crazy talk right!?
Just signed up for a 5k Saturday morning. First race I've done since the Half at the beginning of May, and I haven't been doing enough running or training, so I need goals and events like this to help push me in the right direction.
Lunch time hike. 10 minute drive. 20 minutes uphill. 20 minutes downhill. 10 minute drive back. Not the most efficient use of my lunch break, and it takes all of it up, but it feels so good!! Just have to set the timer so I don't forget to turn around at the time limit. Luckily Lazy Mtn decides to go straight uphill off the bat, so my 20 minutes of uphill are packing a nice workout for the time frame. I just wish it wasn't so hot up here!!!
Fun family afternoon hike up the Butte. Great weather for a hike!
Happy Birthday funhappylife2!!! Quite honestly my favorite person in the whole world. (I do admit, I'm a little biased)
4th of July Recap 1. Fun family parade - check. The little man got quite the candy haul and Herbie watched all the excitement with a piqued interest. 2. The city put on a picnic themed party in the park. Bounce castle and games, ok. Turner wanted a hot dog, but the line was wayyy too long to wait out a free hot dog, so we let him hit up the root beer floats and cotton candy, and made off to grab something we could take home for lunch. 3. Didn't eat great for the fourth. Was not Paleo at all, and allowed myself some ice cream and burgers to celebrate. Could be worse, but I still don't feel great about my choices. Capped it off with the Alaska league college baseball game. The home team won, peanuts were consumed, and even though the weather was overcast and windy... The rain held off. Fun family filled holiday. Great way to spend any day I say!!
Happy Birthday America!!! Time for a parade.
Perks of a holiday day off at home. 1. Enjoying a relaxing cup of coffee at a leisurely pace. 2. Midday elliptical workout. Step goal is history and the rest is bonus!
I just realized that with today's weigh-in.... I'm no longer obese... I'm now overweight!!😆 Yeah I don't really care for the whole general one size fits all BMI chart... But I will take small victories where I find them.
Wednesday Weekly Weigh-In
Last: 238.2 Current: 234.0 Change: -4.2 Woo hoo!!! I had just yesterday been expressing to my wife yesterday how frustrated I'd been with the stagnation of the last month and how I wasn't doing a good job for myself. This morning was a great boost of energy on that front. It again shows that good food choices and activity are the key to changes, and reaffirms a lot of the choices we made this week. We stayed strong and it was worth it. I didn't hit all of my goals. I only made it to the gym once, plus softball, but I also hit my steps with a couple family hikes over the weekend. I still have a few evenings where I wanted to run or move, and gave in to procrastination/laziness... So that's something I can work on this week. Plus, drink water! I've been thinking about what the yearly goals I made for myself for this year were since we've hit the half way point, including my annual Fitbit goal (spoiler alert: I'm not on track). I'll update later after I look over all of it.
Today wasn't too bad. Made it to the gym, got about 30-35 minutes of treadmill in during lunch, and it felt sooo good. Tonight we had our softball league, so I got a bit more running and extra steps in, although I Was the equivalent of a DH for a half of both games so not quite as many steps as normal. Fitbit was still happy though. Food was on point. M1 was a grab and go... Larabar, banana and cuties. M2 was leftover steak and potatoes. M3 was an awesome buffalo chicken salad that was waiting for me as I walked in the door. The four drinks during beer league softball were a bit unnecessary... But they help me play better right?
Good home cooked meal to cap off the weekend. Sautéed the onions and mushrooms in a port... because if wine is good then things cooked in it are good right? Still need to get a run in tonight to hit my steps, and because I'm behind on my workout goals for the week. Plus tomorrow my quads will do their obligatory 'I hate you' to me during softball tomorrow... So might as well use them while I have them.
Tagged by missmarisol to stop drop and selfie. At home just waking up and drinking my coffee. The plan was to get up early and go fishing, but the bed monster changed that up. Also need to do yard work today.... So many plans, so little summer. If you haven't been tagged to stop drop and selfie, consider this it!
