this is perfect for lifting makeup! depending on the bag and size of the slit you make, you can make pallets disappear. i did not in this video but i highly recommend grabbing a decoy as well so you have something to put back on the shelf. i’m also much more discreet about it in real life. repost if you found helpful and good luck! 😉

I don’t have many tips for B&BW in normal non-covid times, however right now because of covid, some B&BW are giving you the paper bag that you get when you check out, when you enter the store. This is so you can carry your things while you shop. They had to get rid of the big black totes you use to shop because of the virus so I doubt they will keep doing this once there is a cure. Anyway I just take advantage of this by filling up a bag with whatever I want and then I walk to the back of the store and act like I’m going to checkout and wait a minute and then I calmly walk out the door and I try to time it so the sa’s don’t see me leave just in case.
I did this the other day and it worked wonders.
T R A U M A S H E A R S
I bought these bad boys off amazon. They’re relatively inexpensive. If you have a friend or family member who works in the ER, Fire Department or on an ambulance, you might be able to get one of them to snag a pair for you.
These aren’t regular scissors. They can slice through clothes like butter, cut wire, thick plastic and cardboard, and are easy to conceal. You can also buy some that fold up like a pocket knife. They fit easily in the inside pocket of my purse, but I can also slip them in my boot or in my back pocket.
The reason why these are so helpful is because I sometimes open the package of something I want and empty it, and then toss the empty package on the floor and kick it under a shelf. Leaving an empty package just out in the open is very reckless, and I would not recommend. All loss prevention has to do is find the empty package sitting on a shelf, lets just say for a phone case, and go to the security camera where the phone accessories are and boom. They saw you pick up that phone case and then found the empty package in an area without cameras. Now they know your face and will keep a lookout for you in the store from now on. Some LP’s wont take it that far, but I call myself overly-paranoid and that’s how I haven’t been caught stealing ANYTHING ever and I have been doing this for years. ANYWAYS - sorry for the off topic tip - Those shears are especially useful for these little security tags also pictured. ******HOWEVER******* Only use the scissors on the first pictured grey security tag. Those do not have an alarm, and nothing will happen once the wire is cut. Those can be tossed anywhere, just make sure there isn’t a camera in sight wherever you toss them, or they can trace you back to the area of whatever item you cut the tag from. The second pictured tag WILL SOUND AN ALARM! don’t try and cut those. I haven’t figured out how to get rid of those yet. I’m just afraid of making the alarm go off on it, so I just leave those items tagged with the black sensors alone. Hope this helps! Happy lifting!

PSA: A magnet will remove the second black tag. Put it on the bottom and it pops right out. And from my experience, it only beeps if you push the wire back in after detagging, however the beep is very quiet.

I’m a beginner lifter (no I didn’t come from another app, I use it as a coping mechanism for my trauma and my friend who also lifts to cope gave me some tips). I like to take things not only from big stores but from shitty sub brands. Anything H*rry P*tter is going down the bra, fuck the transphobic racist bitch I’m not giving her any more of my money. I’m not going to follow you for safety as I don’t have a lifting blog and never will but I have a locked note on my phone with links to some lifting blogs to check in on and yours is one. I don’t know why I decided to tell you but some stuff on your feed made me think of it

Ulta tips?
Like honestly I used to be scared shitless of ulta. Just took some time for me to get comfortable. Highly recommend:
1. Just get to know ultra. Stop in a bunch of different ones and just walk around so you become familiar with other shoppers habits in there and SA habits.
2. TAKE NOTES. Some stores have those fancy new cameras. Some have cheapo ass old ones that legit do not work. Some have security guards some don’t. I honestly prefer ones with security guards (so far) because at least at the ones I’ve been to they are the only form of LP so if I know where they are it’s all good.
3. Take note of what bag and style of existence you are dressed as for each trip to each one. Have an existence you’re pretending to be. If you’re planning to purchase, make a fake account like a little while before you go.
4. Go in with a question planned. Have some idea of something to say. I like to ask about X product I know they don’t have or about a certain size I know they don’t have. Then act sad and wander.
5. Although most of the good stuff tends to be on the tip top of displays, the stuff on the lower shelves is the easiest. Bending and squating is the easiest to just slide something in your bag, especially if you have a rain coat or blazer or something too. Don’t look around before you conceal. Just be aware of who is where
6. Look up a stores reviews on yelp before you go. See if there’s complaints about being followed, etc. cause those stores are honestly my fav cause they don’t want any more bad stops so they’re hesitant.
7. Honestly goes for all stores, but just google the store name and the location and shoplifting. See what police blotters, etc. come up. Gives you an idea of how active they are.
8. See if they are hiring LP! Also, legit do for every store. Let’s you know when they are weak.
9. I like to wear some sort of band under my shirt so I can stuff lipsticks and shit there too if the concealing method will be more natural in the moment.
10. Be confident. Honestly this is key.
And finally I guess call them out if one Sa is following you. ask to talk to a manager, etc. cause it’ll be so bad for them.

Masterpost of store layouts and some ways that they use them to prevent shoplifting
A bunch of shit I learned in my marketing class :)
(Disclaimer: these do not account for cameras and wandering SAs so keep an eye out still!!)
Straight floor plan:
-straight lines
-used in stores like walmart (not expensive but not a wholesale/liquidation store)
-cashier can’t see you if you’re behind a shelf
Diagonal floor plan:
-diagonal lines
-used for a more open traffic flow, which makes it a little harder to watch for other customers but not too hard
-cashier can see most areas (not all, some are blocked still)
-the back is the best place to conceal
Angular or circular floor plan:
-high end/specialty stores (Pandora for example is like this I think)
-open floor plan
-round displays/stands
-great for traffic flow
-a little harder to conceal than diagonal floor plan but not bad if you know what you’re doing
-cashiers can usually see around the round bends if the stands are tall but obviously can’t see everywhere
-if they’re lower stands (like jewelry stands) it’s harder to conceal, try floor or scarf concealment
Geometric floor plan:

-multiple shapes
-usually a mess, harder for cashiers to see around all the twists and bends
-easy to conceal
-usually have good blind spots from cameras
Mixed layout :
-as the name says, it’s mixed
-a little harder to find blind spots but not too bad
-use tips from other layouts
Boutique/round floor plan

-these are used for high end shoe stores, jewelery etc
-Things displayed on the wall
-cashier can see everything
-hardest to conceal in

-Greeters.
They greet you on your way in the store, it’s supposed to syke you out and make you think they know you’re there
(They usually forget you as long as you’re not sus, especially in big stores like walmart )
-Checkouts
Placing checkouts where people have to pass it to leave. This deters lifting because lifters think it’s sus to just walk past the cashier and out of the store. However that’s not usually the case. They honestly don’t care
-Short shelves/displays
They keep shelves and displays waist/stomach height so they can see possible lifters overtop and it makes it harder to conceal
-Shoplifting signs
These are placed in the front of the store, the washrooms or high up (while you look for cams) these are meant to deter a lifter but sometimes there aren’t even cameras or anything to catch you lifting.
(Like burglars are less likely to break into a house/car with a safety system sign)

i haven’t been on here a lot recently because school started 🙃 but i wanted to let you guys know i work at b@th & b0dy w0rks now so i’m trained in preventing theft at all L Brånds stores (bbw, vs, p1nk) 😉. Basically, we are not allowed, under ANY circumstances, to accuse someone of lifting. Like, even if I see you put it in your purse, i’m just supposed to ask you what you’re looking for and help you find products. It’s super stressed in the training videos to NOT call mall security (but the store i work at isn’t in a mall so don’t quote me on this), and the only reason you should even alert a manager is if you feel your safety is threatened. Have fun babes :)
