So. It happened last night–I got caught. First time. No cops/jail THANK GOD. Gonna make this short & sweet cuz I am still raw about it–I was attempting to do a walkout with my shopper bags and I got stopped right by the second exit. The LP was pretty nice to me and so was the manager–they asked me if I could pay for everything in my cart (I couldn’t) so they wrote it up and I have a ban from the store and a civil demand coming in the mail. I only had food in my cart, no health & beauty or anything just food. Looking back I know that I hesitated a couple of times before I made the walkout (mistake #1) and the fact that I hesitated in the first place (mistake #2–not trusting my gut) was more than enough for me to know that it wasn’t the right time. Anyhow BE CAREFUL BABES–grocery stores are really stepping up and walkouts aren’t as easy as they used to be. Stay safe. Questions? Send me an ask.

I went into a TrJ's I lifted from almost a year ago (a couple of items, not a walkout or anything) and this guy was so obviously tailing/watching me. 🙄

Idk what the deal is with TrJ's I've never seen any cams and I've never done a big haul cuz there are so many people around all the time, but I always feel like I'm sussed for whatever reason. The # of items I've grabbed from them I can count on one hand so I'm really confused by the suspicion.

Getting Caught Is Not Inevitable

So many people on here say that every Lifter gets caught. Not true. If you aren’t greedy and you know when to stop, you will not get caught. So many Lifters know their limit and haven’t and will never get caught. Not getting cocky or greedy is the key to success, and don’t let anyone tell you that you will fuck up one day. Play your cards right and that won’t happen.

Some have remade, new names and whatnot, like me. Not that I'm really active anymore - maybe I'm a cranky old timer, but most of the stuff I see on tumblr is ridiculous from people exposing the community in completely avoidable ways to giving some really naive advice.

I know a vast majority of Tumblr hauls are makeup hauls, not something I find particularly interesting. It's been really hot lately because individuals like to hoard makeup. It got to a point with me where I knew what my holy grail products were, boosted the rest of it and only grabbed 3-4 different items at makeup spots. I think some people just like to fill the voids in their lives with tons of pretty palettes they don't use. 🙈

tips from a former dsw employee

• you gotta be chill. if the sa swings by (which is required of them, chat up everyone in the section) speak with them briefly, even just the niceties. ignoring them tips off.

• unless it’s peak days (fri - sun) there’s generally only one person per section, except for clearance they usually have 2. men’s shoes&athletics are usually one section. then whatever’s the seasonal shoe (boots, sandals, etc). then regular stock (keds, sketchers, vans, comfy stuff) and women’s dress shoes. accessories generally are manned by anyone who happens to see someone in the section

• there’s generally an MOD and then another one of the managers will be floating around too.

• we definitely use those walkies to talk about suspicious characters.

•there aren’t many cameras, but they are there. cash wrap, hall to the bathroom, and one of the clearance corners are the ones i can remember rn from my store.

• i’ve seen a lot of people say to go to the clearance section to lift - i don’t recommend it. we’re trained to service the crap out of people back there because WE KNOW that’s where ya go!

• most athletic shoes are tagged, as well as our high end heels and “prom” shoes

• best way to lift, be the great customer. try on 4 or 5 pairs of shoes. pull the paper out try them on completely. have the boxes spread around you. when there are no other customers in the aisle & no sa’s, slip the pair you want into your bag. then clean everything up and put the boxes back approximately where they should be. if everything is left out, we’re gonna remember that bitch who made a massive mess.

• pro tip: put one of the smokescreen pairs on hold under a fake name. then you look way less suspicious.

• more often than not, if a column of boxes looks tidy, we don’t mess with it. closing is on a tight schedule and the stores are BIG.

• the sa’s aren’t allowed to confront you or accuse you. all we can do is call the police/mall security and try and keep you in the store.

10/10 Grocery Method

This method has worked for me and everyone else I’ve shared it with, honestly I was just sitting in the car one day, and thought of this. Won’t work for a huge grocery haul but is PERFECT FOR CONCEALING. This works at any grocery store. Get your items in a basket or whatever and go to the freezer section to be “looking for ice cream” as you are looking for ice cream have your purse situated on the side of your body where the door is blocking you; the condensation will block the next part. the items you want to conceal should be in your hand and literally just drop them In! So easy and works 10/10. No grocery stores know of this yet…. I literally just thought of this about a month ago & it’s perfect because the condensation on the door will make it pretty much impossible for the cameras to see you. I also prefer to lean in so my body is almost inside the freezer, for even more comfort knowing no one can see you ;)

hi there, i'm messaging a whole bunch of blogs because i'm honestly so paranoid right now. i've lifted from several different places making sure i conceal my stuff in different places so they can't really trace it. in luggages at walmart, between shit that won't be moved for awhile, going to the bathroom (barnes and noble) and throwing away the boxes. i don't think anyone saw me, but what is the likelihood of having the police come get you after you successfully lifted something? help

If you make it to your vehicle without being caught you’ll be fine.

nooo no no no please stop saying that!!! it is NOT TRUE!!!!!!!! you are going to get people caught with this shit!! there is NO POINT where you are home free. just because you make it out the doors doesn’t mean they weren’t watching you the whole time. just because you leave the parking lot doesn’t mean they can’t do shit about it. many stores will purposefully let you steal over and over again until you hit the felony amount in your state. if they were watching you on cam and weren’t 100% sure you took something, but they suspected you, you can bet they’ll recognize you next time you come in, and if you make ONE mistake, they will prosecute for EVERY item they think you stole. many places even increase the amount you’re charged with, just because they can and you can’t prove you didn’t take more. it’s also completely legal and common practice to let you “get away” and then send a fine and court date straight to the address registered to your license plate. this isn’t a game and there are no winning conditions. by the way - leaving empty packaging behind is solid evidence that you stole something, even if they never caught it on camera or personally saw you doing it. empty packages = theft and it is absolutely enough to prosecute. please, for the love of god, STOP telling people that they’re fine just because they made it out the door. it’s absolutely not true and it’s an extremely dangerous misconception to be spreading to new lifters. you are never safe. there is ALWAYS a chance that you could get caught, even months after you do it. these places don’t fuck around. being paranoid is better than being caught.

You safe just because you made it out the door.  However if the police show up at your door, unless they have an warrant for your arrest, DENY LEAVING THE STORE WITH ANYTHING.  They will tell you that they have it on camera, KEEP DENYING LEAVING WITH ANYTHING.  They will say that it will be better if you just admit it, DENY, DENY, DENY.  Say nothing, and stick to it.  If they don’t have a warrant for your arrest then they do not have enough evidence to prosecute you, they want you to admit to it so they can arrest you for it.  If you open your mouth to say anything let it be “Do I need a lawyer?”, “Am I under arrest?” or “I did not leave that store with any merchandise that was not paid for.”, for the love of your freedom don’t admit to anything.  They will lie to you and say that they have the evidence and that it will be easier on you if you just tell the truth, POLICE CAN AND WILL LIE TO GET YOU TO CONFESS.

Hello babes! So I recently went to Macy’s to actually buy something and I found a cute shirt I liked and didn’t realize it wasn’t tagged until after I tried it on! And I found that very suspicious especially since it’s American Rag so I was lookin for some sort of tag and well, there’s RFID inside the tag! Just letting y'all know that checking thoroughly is very import! So the point is: AMERICAN RAG HAS RFID IN THE TAGS! I’m not sure what other brands in Macy’s do but now I know AR does!
