Saw this really cute tutorial on doing a simple blink animation and had to try it out myself—Solas being my usual test subject lol

Thinking about how one of Solas’ three kisses takes place in the Inquisitor’s quarters. This is her place to go and be alone. Be herself only. Above the craziness of the world.

Solas goes there with her and, where they are sure to be alone, allows himself to be vulnerable with her. To express his feelings at last. I don’t know what I’m even getting at but it’s just…

He wouldn’t have pressed her to go there. She took him there. She invited him into that space. Into her own refuge. Solas would’ve taken note of that, surely. Recognized what she was doing and appreciated it.

Their quiet little dance of vulnerability and acceptance is so important to me. And then if we go to Halamshiral and choose not to dance but just to be together for a little while, the way he folded her to his side. Opened himself up to pull her close and press a kiss to her temple.

It makes me wonder why Solas chose the glade in Crestwood. Why was that place so special to him? Why did he choose that place to tell her the truth, because that was his intention? I have to think it was a place of significance to him and he wanted to bring her to a place that was also once a refuge, a haven, for himself.

Even in Trespasser, he meets her alone and while he does try to maintain arm’s length approach, Solas can’t. He has to touch her and kiss her one last time. Her pain is too much for him to bear and not try to comfort her somehow.

They don’t get that seclusion in DAV, but they both absolutely block out the others who are there. The way Lavellan looks at him, no one else exists. And his attention is so wrapped up in her… they aren’t alone. But they are now able to entirely and completely shut the world out for each other.

Makes me sick, y’all. Really does.

I always though it would’ve been really cool if everyone’s appearances changed over the course of the game, their hairstyles at least.
