king lounges back upon throne, picture of ease. legs rest, parted, one arm resting at side while other has elbow bent, and hand upon chin, as thought to stroke non-existent beard. only eyes belay debonair facade. cerulean orbs stare unblinking, brows pinching together in center and eyes narrowed as if in deep thought. and there is much thought going through king's mind at the moment as he gazes upon titaness.
hekate has always been a curious one. a puzzle which he has been unable to piece together. she stood in high rank, even when his father ruled and he was but rebel leader. yet she had turned to his aid, assisting him in usurping kronos. why she'd done so, he knew not even now. she was the daughter of asteria and perses, the starry one and the destroyer. kronos had honored her, as he had all the titans, and given her fair share in domain and title. yet she had turned to his side.
and in the war of the gigantes, she yet again joined his side, despite her fury over his attempted advances upon her mother. such acts baffle the king of the gods, and make unease well within every time he lays eyes upon her. yet he knows he owes her much, and knows she is one he cannot bend to heel. she will not bow to him any more than she chooses, nor will she allow him to take what she believes is hers. and he must honor this, for he knows she is force to be contended with. the blood of the destroyer runs through her veins, and she is magic incarnate.
yes, he must tread lightly. but that does not mean he must yield entirely. fingers tap rhythmically upon rest of throne, and he simply gazes upon her. she is sight to be appreciated indeed, though he prefers true form to this face. he feels desire run through him, but he quells it as he knows he must. she is not like his other conquests. she would not bend to his will as the other women he's bedded have. for she sees herself as his equal. which makes her dangerous. too much so for him to dare try anything. one thing he learned from his marriage to metis was that what he needed was not an equal, as the titaness had been, but one just a step below him. one who could appear equal, yet was still beneath him. hera had served perfectly, and all women he'd lain with had as well. but hekate would not. which is what keeps him from letting hungry gaze turn to action.
she is the one to break first, as he knew she would. he knows this place makes her uncomfortable. the blazing white of olympus has that effect upon the chthonic deities, he has realized, and he always uses this to his advantage, making her squirm a bit every time he summons her. it appeases need to assert dominance, though he knows it petty and pointless. it proves nothing. but it makes him feel as though he holds some power over otherwise untouchable titaness.
❛ indeed, I did. it has come to my attention recently that you used
dark magic to resurrect a criminal convicted by her government
and sentenced to death. and as god of justice, it is my duty to
discern why you would act against judgement of peers, and
intervene in lawful justice. ❜
