y’all are sleeping on that one dialogue Hopper has with Enzo about how the only thing he wants for El is for her to become whoever she is. Not what she is supposed to be, what she truly is. I just think that is something El needed to hear SO desperately this season. We see her trying to fit in with all the people around her, pretending like nothing bad has ever happened to her cause that’s what she thinks Hopper would have wanted for her. To be a normal kid with a normal life even when the way she grew up was so fucked up, despite all the trauma she has been through. So of course it wasn’t working for her. Of course pretending to be a normal teenage girl wasn’t easy. Cause n°1 she was surrounded by assholes left and right (aka fucking angela) and n°2 she’s just not normal. And that’s ok. And that is all Hopper actually wanted her to understand, that even if she isn’t like the rest she can still have a happy life just by being herself. And it makes me emotional and I just want to hug them both real tight🥺❤️
