Bit of a controversial take, but pride month is both a protest and a celebration. It’s a celebration of how far the queer community has come (I mean, they’re not outright killing us in the streets) but it’s also a protest for future rights and equality. Celebrating is also a protest because we are showing everyone that we can be as loud as we like; that we are here and that won’t change. I see a lot of people saying that it needs to be a protest this year or people saying that pride shouldn’t be a celebration, but why can’t we have both? Protests and celebrations? Celebrate who you are, be proud, and fight for the ability to be prouder
