humans are space orks: haunted houses
summer? What are you talking about? Halloween is a state of mind bitches
Rex hid his trembling hands in the pockets of his hoodie as he shuffled further down the dimly lit hallway. Just one foot in front of the other, he told himself. One. Two. One. Two.
Each closed door he passed was a risk. With every corner turned he braced himself. Nothing came. When Charlie dared him to make it through the haunted house without screaming once, he had readily accepted the challenge. A warrior like himself should have no trouble with humans in shabby costumes.
Why would anyone do this to themselves? Were humans really this insane? Rex shivered, staring at the large and hairy fake spider strung in the corner. Disgusting.
Rex stiffened. He had developed a sort of sixth sense for being watched from years of war. It was the job of the commander to be constantly vigilant, to be watching over his soldiers.
The alien spun around, muscle memory bringing his hand to his belt, though there was no weapon in the holster.
There was nothing. His breaths quickened in his chest, and he couldn't control it. It's fine, I'm fine, everything is fine--
And then there was a hand on his shoulder. Before the scare actor even got the chance to say "Boo", Rex's flight or fight instincts kicked in. Fight came first. He thrust his elbow backward and heard an "oof".
The scream he let out was a little late. A "mummy" winced, holding their stomach. "What the hell, man!"
The alien turned a deep shade of navy blue, hands fluttering uselessly in the air. "I apologize, human! Truly, I would never have meant to hurt you-"
They continued glaring daggers at him, so he swerved past them and fled. If any other actors jumped out at him, he didn't see them. Rex was sprinting too fast for that.
By the time he made it out on the other side, he felt thoroughly spent. Charlie and the others were already waiting for him. Rex held up his hand before Charlie could tease him.
"All of you people, are insane! Fucking psychos! I am never doing that again!"
Scaring themselves on purpose. Tch. He would never understand humans.
