Now he was thinking about those strange creatures, it made him look round them to make sure they had not been following them. Luckily, this wasn’t the case and the hedgehog sighed in relief. He even smiled at Sora’s words. “Oh, they’re Heartless, I see no–”
“Wait, slow down. You knew exactly what I was going to say? How did– are you a mind reader?” was he psychic too, like his husband? Goodness, did this mean Starlight could be read like a book so much more easily? Then again, maybe it was because Sora’s heard it all before?
Still, it was remarkable how he knew what the hedgehog was on about. It made it much easier to get to the point.
“Chaos, let me get this right; they’re Heartless, and you’re here to defeat them? Huh, okay, when you put it in those terms, it makes sense why you’re here! But them? Why are they here?”
It got him thinking as to why this was the case. Starlight shook his head and rested his hands on his shoulders. “Things have been really hectic lately. If you know about them, which you appear to, then I’ll definitely need your help. Who knows where they might end up.”
And of course, the hedgehog blinked at this too. “Hah– ooh, right. Uh, hmm, well, there’s a town nearby! Perhaps we could go and check it out and ask where we are?”
Why the heck did the town look like Diamond Dust? Was it his imagina– “Argh!”
“Of course we’re here! Stupid bracelet, you’re supposed to warp me–! I know where we are. Sigh, we’re home. My home. Stupid thing was supposed to–!”
“Wha? W-wait, no! No, I’m not a mind reader. I’ve been dealing with the Heartless and Nobodies for...well, for a long time, okay?” Sora sighed, he didn’t realize it had been that long he’s been fighting those monsters off. “Hmph, and it sounds like they must appear more often in this world if you’re familiar with them?”
“But yeah, it’s basically the reason I’m here. You see, they come to different worlds, attacking and taking people’s hearts, therefore turning them into heartless too. And if I don’t find the keyhole to this world and seal it, they’ll just keep coming. They have a leader, and they will keep sending them out until I have to finish them off.”
Sora smiled, relieved that Sonic was willing to help out in this case. Considering neither of them knew where they are, it couldn’t hurt to work together. Although...it seemed like he was already very familiar with this place. His own home. Sora snickered, covering his mouth to keep from laughing out loud.
“S-sure, yeah okay. So Diamond Dust is your home...at least you can still help me out here, right? This still helps a lot you know your way around here.”
