Right so, no progress for a LONG(!!!!) time. Anyway, fresh start etc. Ze plan iz this - upon discovering Mr Linkwitz has now replaced the Pluto 2.1 with the LXmini loudspeaker we intend on doing the following:
1) utilising the existing electronics we have for the power amp section of the LXM
2) retaining the woofer driver and baskets as these are identical
3) making the LXmini speakers instead, because, well, duh.
More progress on the boards. Looking good!

Baskets have arrived...
The wood turner has completed the first of our baskets, with the rest due to be done today. They look great! Wood is sapele. Don't ask how much it cost...

Hello, thanks for posting these base design options for the Linkwitz Pluto. I have been looking for an alternative to the "stock" design and one of those you have here will do nicely. If you might post information regarding where you found the fittings the woofers are mounted in I would greatly appreciate it. They look much cleaner than the recommended rubber fittings. Thanks again for posting these.
Hey - they're just renders. We're experimenting with ideas for what to make the woofer basket out of at the moment - we have access to a few different means, and a few are off the list already - using delrin (too fiddly), 3D printing (too expensive) - currently the most likely method looks to be using appropriately sized rigid flower pots (see the Orion/Pluto forum for people who have done this). These will need some cutting down to match the size of the default coupler (the Femco one) and also some wood rings will need to be made so the driver and basket will mount properly, as well as some foam tape and that gorilla glue stuff. The guy doing the boards has been too busy to get them done yet, and we're not buying the drivers/pipes till they're finished, so consequently there's no woofer baskets to show properly yet. Hopefully that will be changing soon!

Status Report
Boards have been picked up by the man with the solder gun. Some electronic components ordered. More to come. Next stage = making a bunch of parts into an amplifier for a 2 way crossover.
