Kids who grew up counting stars,
once chased by the moon,
who ran barefoot after fireflies in the narrow lanes
Are all dead now.
They take a side
without knowing the human cost —gaza, palestine, israel, ukraine
as if life is worthless,
as if dreams in those eyes are dust
Y'all will be persecuted
By your god, under the rules you fear monger others about.
Only then
the kids who counted missiles in the sky,
ran barefoot on the radiation waste,
for one bowl of rice and glass of water
Before water touches their dry soul
A strong light flashes in the sky
Brighter than the sun
The kids have returned
To the eternal peace.
A rest of peace has arrived,
Free from the pain and suffering,
And they will have everything.
Your religious book promised you.
Everything you greed about
A rest in the lap of supreme.
