I’ve been watching The 100 with my dad (who is an award winning director, screenwriter, teaches both those things at uni and is generally 90% accurate at guessing what will happen in movies/tv shows) and we finally saw the finale together tonight

and afterwards I told him ‘Can you believe that the producer of this show says Bellamy and Clarke are platonic?’

and he just looked at me with his signature film expert look and said

'Platonic? Where?’

So there you have it. And if my dad says bellarke are romantic, I’m pretty damn sure that unless this show just wants to fuck us over for shock value

I honestly don’t know why I’m making this post but I just saw these parallels and against my better judgment, I’m gonna share them here.

So the way Octavia has her guards put Bellamy on his knees

Is very similar to how pike put Lincoln on his knees

And the way they both look up not afraid of death but thinking of the choices they’ve made.

I can’t help but notice Octavia’s face. When Lincoln dies we see Octavia lose herself, she shuts off her emotions..sort of like a switch. And tbh even if we’ve seen little flickers I don’t think she’s been truly open since that moment.

BUT…we see her start to break down and let herself feel when the door shuts and she locks eyes with Bellamy. Maybe seeing Bellamy on his knees the same way Lincoln was is what switches her emotions back on. She’s alone. She’s ruling in a way Lincoln would never approve of. When she won the conclave she chose to save everyone because of Lincoln and his mentality. Now she’s so far off from the woman he loved. Maybe she is finally reaching her breaking point. Octavia is alone in a way she’s truly never been before…and she did it to herself. She became what she never wanted to be. What Bellamy couldn’t protect her from.

I’m just trying to imagine the conversation between Clarke and spacekru & co as she explains why Bellamy isn’t with her, and there’s no version I can come up with that doesn’t make everything blatantly obvious

Them: Where’s Bellamy? Clarke: Octavia arrested him Them: Why would she do that? Clarke: He put the flame in Madi’s head Them: … WHY? Clarke: To stop a civil war within Wonkru and unite them behind one leader to prevent a war Them: Was Octavia not in control? Clarke: Oh yeah, she was in a coma Them: She was what? Clarke: Bellamy poisoned her Them: WHY? HOW? Clarke: To stop the war. And I don’t know, I wasn’t there Them: So where were you? Clarke: In a cell, Octavia arrested me for murder Them: Wait, what?  Clarke: Yeah, she was gonna execute me Them: ……. did Bellamy know about this? Clarke: Yeah, Octavia took me right in front of him, why? Murphy: … Raven: … Echo: … Diyoza: Amazing.
