Gods are testing me with this project. Help
finished reading the mill on the floss!! Finally got some shit done!!
One way to get tasks done in the day is to make yourself a Chekhov's List. Put all of the things you have to do on a list, and now that they've been revealed they'll need to be completed by the afternoon (third act) and when you've completed something you can Chekov that task from the list
it would be so nice if you were allowed to start working on projects before you hit the 12 hour until deadline mark but sadly itās not possible with our current technology. scientists are hard at work but for now this is one of the limitations we must face as a people
I had 10 hours of studying in my plans today but instead I did 18 minutes. At this point I am taking the win that I at least studied even if a little bit
I'm going to make up for this tomorrow by getting up at 8 am and locking in 3 times more
making stuff is one of the best parts of being alive
a gentle reminder that you just need to make things a tiny bit better for your future self. reading one page, writing one sentence, getting half of a task done, itās still good.

I spent today doing the laundry, tidying my desk, changing my sheets and writing. I wrote like 1.6 words and the chapter I'm working on is currently at 2.8k I'm so proud of myself omg. Genuinely. I covered so much ground yayyy. Unfortnately I have to lock back into studying and my other chores (I still have to fold the clothes... and wash the cups I've let pile up on my desk.) (For studying I have to rewrite some stuff and then translate A Lot of sentences. Also do research on jane eyre translations, make some comparisons etc. Oh fuck I also need to read north and south)

Ariel Day, from a poem titled "Long Term Memory," featured in Black Roses: Poems about Love, Heartbreak, Mental Health, Self Love
ADVICE FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT HAVING A GOOD DAY:
wait until it gets dark and make tea or coffee or hot chocolate, or if itās too hot outside make yourself a healthy smoothie with your favorite things in it at any point during the day
put on your favorite underwear, it helps, trust me, itās an old family secret (iām not kidding)
if you have a pet, play the āhow many things can i stick on you until you move or get madā game (bonus points if they fall asleep, extra bonus points if a family member sees you and tells you to quit it, extra double ultra points if they join in)
rip a peice of paper into as many little pieces as you can
go to animeseason.com and click ārandom animeā until you see one that looks completely ridiculous (or actually good) and watch the first episode. repeat if it sucked or if you get bored halfway through
spend at least an hour making a music playlist for how you feel right now and save it for now or when you feel a bad mood rise again
curl up in bed and cover yourself with blankets and pillows and put in music and just lay there for a while (sleeping is also good)
eat everything
drink lots of water
itās okay bad moods donāt last forever!!!!!! i promise!!! you will be yourself soon and there are people who love you very much, donāt be afraid to reach out to them
you are lovely
eat lots of bananas
here are some more friends
i bet there is still a box of crayons in your house somewhere (if not you can get them cheap during back-to-school sales); find them and use them (maybe while watching ridiculous anime)
sunshine if you can manage it or just a sun lamp trust me it matters more than you think especially in winter
hugs even if they are stuffed animals or your pet or your pillow whatever is on hand
if youāve got a favorite lotion/soap/thing that is scented use it liberally
cry if you need, if it doesnāt start by itself or if you donāt want to attract attention put on a sad movie so you have an excuse
write this down to pull out on future bad days:
it is okay to have a day where you donāt get things done
it is okay not to have a reason for feeling bad
taking care of yourself is a worthwhile use of time
if you still donāt feel better it is not your fault (and it is okay to ask for help)
@daysleftofsecondterm
And may I say, before the crowd of āself care isnāt always funā crowd rolls in⦠not with that attitude itās not.
