build-a-bambi ( baline )

It was Faline’s birthday, and Bambi was absolutely determined to make it one of the best days ever. It had been hard to come up with something to do with Faline that they hadn’t already done since they had started going out, and he had been feeling increasingly alarmed until someone, possibly sent by an angel, told him about a store, a fantastic store, where you could make and customise your own teddy bear.

It sounded as though it catered mainly to children, but it also sounded like Fun with a capital F, and Bambi was sure Faline would like it too. It had certainly seemed like it, when he had proposed it to her the week earlier, and maybe that had ruined part of it, not getting the element of surprise, so to make up for it Bambi also made sure he arrived at her house that morning with the biggest bouquet of flowers he (and possibly the world) had ever seen.

And now they were nearing the store, him clasping her hand in his, and Bambi was just about bouncing on the balls of his feet, so excited was he at the thought of getting to make his own bear.“Look! You can even get costumes for ‘em, too!” He pointed excitedly at the window display, seeing bears in bee costumes and princess tiaras.

Faline was more than excited. For one, it was her birthday! Her birthday! She was a year younger than Bambi, but technically it was less than that. She secretly enjoyed being the same age as him even for a just a little while. It was fun! Of course it was more than just being the same age as her boyfriend, she was also more mature now! 

So far it was wonderful. When he had first arrived to pick her up Bambi had given her so many flowers she couldn't count them all. Her mother had been pleased, and a teeny bit embarrassing but that was okay. 

When Bambi had first mentioned Build-A-Bear as an option for her birthday (and he remembered her birthday how cute is that???) Faline had only heard of the store a few times before, but after hearing about it from him and how excited he seemed to bring her made her feel super giddy about going. She held onto his hand and looked over the different costumes in the window display. “These are so cute!” Her eyes came across a teddy bear with a tiara. Faline bit her lip and tried to suppress a grin while she glanced subtly at her boyfriend. Maybe some day...

“Oh -- okay!” She said quickly, blushing and trying to change her train of thought. She giggled as they walked through the entrance. “Let’s... build a bear! How does this work?”

Hehe, he says stuff like he’ll never be twitterpated and he’ll never let it happen to him.  A-actually, I used to say that kinda stuff too… a-an’ here we are. Heh, Thumps not gonna know what hit ‘im. It’ll be soo good to be the one to get to tease him for a change! In the nice way, of course.

'Course I remembered your birthday, I-I wouldn't be a very good boyfriend if I didn't. The best part is we get to make our own though! Maybe I could make a Thumper teddy bear that looks like him, o-or a Faline teddy.

Oh, it’s not really work, it’s- well, t-there was the funeral, an’ then there were all these meetings ‘bout how Scar’s gonna be King now. I prob’ly shouldn’t say this but… Scar gives me a funny feelin’. I don’t know how I feel ‘bout ‘im bein’ king.

Oh reaaaally? You said that? Hmm, well, I certainly hope that isn't the case anymore. If it is I guess I'll just have to go find another adorable secret Prince somewhere...

Hehe, just kidding! It would be funny to tease Thumper, even just a liiiittle. Especially since he's always teasing everyone else! 

That's not true! It can be really hard to remember dates sometimes I know, I really appreciate it!! I think you would be a good boyfriend anyway, too... O-oh! Yes, I suppose you could, hehe. Orrrr we could make a Bambi teddy! We could give him a crown, too.

I don't really know much about politics so I can't help you that much. I'm really sorry, I wish I could do something. But I think you are right about, um, youknowwho. I know it sounds silly but I am a little worried about you, be careful please.

Oh goodness, I think summer is mine! Or maybe Spring, since it’s not too hot or cold! Plus all the pretty flowers — you’re right! I can’t wait for it to be warm again, it sure would be nice to be able to go outside and not have to wear a woolly coat!

I know, I am so excited!! It is really beautiful around the woods in the spring, too! I don't know if you've ever been there during that time but it is really lovely. 

Um, are you -- Y-you're Princess Anna, right? From Arendelle? Sorry I didn't mean to be rude! I just recognized you from some of the gatherings Bambi goes to. I'm Faline, I was wondering... h-how are you doing?

Tuuulips! My favourite! ‘Side from daffodils. Yeah, I miss the butterflies too. It would be! Also it’d be ‘specially funny to see Thumper get twitterpated, I think! Flower sort of already acts like he is all the time, all bashful an’ lightheaded. An’ I know Thumper’s made friends with a few girls now, so it could happen aaaaaany day now!

Yeah, that one! Great! H-hey, your birthday’s comin’ up - maybe we could go then? ‘M sure Father’ll give me the day off if it’s your birthday! 

Y-yeah… I miss you too. Sorry I haven’t been around much lately. There’s been a lot goin’ on, with Sim- w-with everythin’ that’s happened.

Oh, of course! Maybe some daffodils will bloom in our garden, too. I know they did last year. Well I think that would be good for Thumper. Love is really wonderful! And it would be a little fun to see him so embarrassed and confused, hehe!

That sounds perfect, Bambi! And thank you for remembering my birthday that is really sweet!! Oh I hope so, and for your own birthday too. I love stuffed animals, it would make a really good birthday gift.

Oh no, I know it's not your fault! There are a lot of things... going on right now. U-um, but I hope you aren't working too hard!

You’re right Faline, I-I think it would be really good for everyone if Spring hurried up a little bit. Snow’s good an’ all, but I don’t think this winter’s been very fun for anyone… It’d sure be nice to see the forest green again, an’ the birds singin’. An’ hey, maybe it’s Thump’s or Flower’s turn to get twitterpated, hehe!

By the way, Faline? Have ya ever heard of a place called “Build-A-Bear”? I heard Thumper’s sisters talkin’ ‘bout it. I wanna go see it, it sounds real fun! Would you maybe wanna come with me? I need a break from bein’ a royal… for a while.

Yeah, I think so too! Mother and I were talking about how she wanted to plant tulips this year and how she missed seeing all the butterflies around, you know? Oh, that's true! It sure would be nice to see them happy, don't you think? 

Oh, I think so! The store where you get to make your own stuffed animal? Aww, I'd love to go with you! I miss seeing you too, not that I'm unhappy you're a prince. I think it'd every girl's dream to date a prince, hehe! You have just become veeeeryy busy that's all.

Sometimes all this snow makes it feel like an eternal winter around here… Which couldn’t really be a thing, right? I can’t imagine being stuck in all this snow forever! It just sososososo cold.
