I learned from tiktok that some people are put off by Your Dear Daddy because of the title of the series and that's why a lot of people aren't giving it a chance.

I'm doing my part to push the series so here's my elevator pitch!

I personally don't have a problem with the title but I can see how some people would find it weird, it's a strange title and could have multiple implications.

The series is about a young man named Saitharn. He's a 23 yr old spoiled rich brat not looking for work and just wants to party and sleep with hot men. But of course there's more to him than that, he feels like a disappointment to his family because he doesn't meet their expectations and finds it hard to open his heart because of past trauma.

Anyways, he meets 35 year old Sila at a resort (that Sila owns) but he thinks Sila is someone else he met on a dating app that he was supposed to hook up with. The guy's screen name is crazy btw. He and Sila do IMMEDIATELY hit things off without even knowing each other's names but fate brings them back together in the form of a debt.

Now Saitharn has found himself employed at the tea farm Sila owns until his debt is paid. Saitharn feels like it's a hassle but maybe he also finds himself wanting to do well and Sila sees something in Saitharn that no one else seems to see. Sila also seems to have the biggest soft spot for the cute boy.

Saitharn comes with his own baggage as well, though he's better at hiding it. But he's living with the perpetual feeling of family disappointment so he's trying his hardest to be the best tea farm business man he can be. That of course leads to competitors lurking and seething and wanting to take him down.

There are two other couples in the series. Gale and Mueanphae who are former classmates and working on a new project together. And Mok and Saeng who are young boys trying to figure out if they're friends or something more.

This series is about family, friends, expectations, love loss, trauma, heartbreak, new love, self acceptance, growth, and opportunity.

As far as the title goes...Sila might have a bit of a daddy kink and Saitharn might be into it IF he was into Sila which he claims he's not but...this is a BL so.

This series stars Fluke Pusit as Sila, formerly of GMMTV. You might remember him from The Warp Effect and A Boss and A Babe. And newcomer Saengnuea Jitaboon as Saitharn. Their chemistry is magical and Saengnuea carries his own alongside a veteran like Fluke.

I will say there is suicide in this series in ep 5 so be very aware and I can give time stamps if you need them.

saitharn choosing a faceless man with the name small 🍆 big ❤️‍🔥 does suggest he has a preference and him not realizing sila wasn't him based on that implies he fits that qualification

which is most likely unimportant plot-wise, but it is something i haven't seen much of. the few mentions of size have always been either implying or outright stating the "top" was bigger than expected or making jokes about the "bottom" being small

the idea of not being a size queen seems as lost to most as the possibility of a couple being verse and i simply appreciate the subversion
