For anyone who might be interested, I have a blog for my original series, Alchemystic!

While the name has changed many times throughout the last few years, this series is one close to my heart. Back in 2023, none of my current projects at the time felt right and there was a lot of stressful stuff happening in my real life (work, family issues, etc.), so I turned to the magical girl shows from my youth for some comfort. From there, I was inspired to take all my current projects and mashed them together into one big love letter to the magical girl genre.

Honestly, that was the best decision I've ever made.

Also, I made the blog towards the end of 2025, but I keep forgetting to do an actual proper post for anyone who follows me on here, so I already have some stuff on there and I'm so sorry for putting this off lol

Here's my contribution for the Charles Rowland zine organised by @dbdauplifts. You can still find the digital version here, all profits from it go to Galop, the UK’s LGBT+ anti-abuse charity. Even though it was a bit of a hard time for me, working with the dbdauplifts team and other contributors brought me so much joy 🧡💜 Can't wait for the twin Edwin zine!

Charles had replaced his earphones and closed his eyes, swaying his feet as he listened to his Walkman contraption. Edwin allowed his gaze to linger for a moment, appreciating Charles’s lovely hands. He desperately wished to hold them. Just as he had desperately wished to kiss Charles in 1994, even before he had realized as much. - Or, the 5 times that Edwin and Charles wanted to kiss each other (and the one time they actually did.)

It was starting to get cold in the basement at night, now in October. The chill was slowly creeping into Charles' bones as he sat on his bed. It would have been so easy to just get under the covers, but Charles couldn't seem to bring himself to unfurl his body from its huddled position quite yet, his knees drawn up to his chest and his arms slung around his legs. It wasn't exactly comfortable with him hurting all over, but there was something comforting about it nonetheless. And it did help a little with keeping himself warm.

SUMMARY:

If Charles was being honest with himself, being a ghost is really not all it’s cracked up to be. Sure, there are perks: mirror travel is brills, he can go anywhere he wants in the world in practically the blink of an eye. There are parts of the staying young forever thing that are admittedly pretty cool. The magic—very neat. He loves making disguises and getting to feel like a proper spy. Being able to see any movie or attend any concert he wants because he’s not a living breathing, law-abiding citizen anymore, is he? All in all, sure, being dead is pretty punk.
