I'm not downplaying the historical and philosophical value in Marcus Aurelius' writings but I do think it's funny how many people hold up his Meditations as an earth-shattering paradigm-shifting breakthrough in human thought when it was very, very clearly an extremely stressed out and depressed man desperately trying to teach himself any form of coping mechanism he could to put up with more or less being forced to continue to reign as emperor against his will
Meditations reads less like a philosophical text or compilation of thought and more like a series of post it notes Marcus had tacked to his bathroom mirror that said stuff like "hang in there kitten!" and "don't kill yourself today!"
#there's a reason that I as an extremely emotionally fraught high school girl imprinted hard on the stoics #epictetus was first but I was so in love with marcus aurelius for literal years. I was too proud to draw hearts around his name #but that's what it felt like! secretly I was drawing so many stupid hearts. #and it was because ''hi. do you ever get depressed? anyway. life is an unending nightmare and you can't control most of it #so here are some facts! fact one: life is an eternal desert and will cover all your achievements with sand given time. #so there's no point in asking for the praise you so crave. hope that helps.'' #anyway #the point of this is that overheated teens should read more philosophy. #I really do think it would---well not fix them but at least make the neuroses more interesting. - notbecauseofvictories

One of the first characters I wrote down an idea for on this blog!
There is one major reason for this; dragonflies are the most effective predators on Earth, with an average hunting success rate of 90% of their targets. What better for the man who never misses
I also like him being a somewhat frail-looking insect because his lack of powers and unassuming appearance is part of why he's such a dangerous and sadistic person
The eight-spotted skimmer dragonfly was chosen mostly because it had a cool design and matched with his color scheme
alright I've got to do some quick math to explain attitudes towards AI to my boss.
we're looking to create an AI policy, and when we were talking about this, my boss (older millennial) was genuinely shocked to hear that younger people do not (seem) to view AI positively (a la the recent commencement speakers being booed)
please rb for larger sample size!
Question 1/3
What is your age, and do you feel AI is a net positive or net negative in our lives today?
under 18, AI is a net positive
under 18, AI is a net negative
18-29, AI is a net positive
18-29, AI is a net negative
30-45, AI is a net positive
30-45, AI is a net negative
46-60, AI is a net positive
46-60, AI is a net negative
over 60, AI is a net postive
over 60, AI is a net negative
Question 2/3
How often do you visit or interact with museums/archives (whether in person or online)?
Frequently (multiple times per month)
Often (multiple times per year)
Occasionally (a couple times per year)
Rarely (once every couple of years)
Never :(
Question 3/3
If you saw a museum was using AI in exhibits, marketing, research, etc., would you be more or less inclined to visit that museum?
under 18, more inclined
under 18, less inclined
18-29, more inclined
18-29, less inclined
30-45, more inclined
30-45, less inclined
46-60, more inclined
46-60, less inclined
over 60, more inclined
over 60, less inclined
Thank you for helping with this data collection. Please rb for as big a sample as possible!

Pixel post dividers for everyone! It's not much, but feel free to use them if you'd like. I don't know the ideal size for these, so let me know if they're too tall. I can make them a bit shorter next time.

i love how OP is wailing over being set on fire but manages to remember to close the door behind him when he leaves the house.
Le Figaro have a newly published photograph from inside Notre Dame shortly before the roof collapsed, as molten lead fell into the nave. (+)
This is what I love about photojournalism. It is just a history of moments where human beings have gone “I know I should really be hauling ass out of here but I have to get a picture of this”
AAAAA PHEW i just finished binding a bunch of new zines that compile my PNW fantasy sketch pages :”) just in time for when I get to table at the Portland Zine Symposium tomorrow!!!!! if anyone’s in the area come say hi!!!
I’ve loved walking through this event for several years now, I’m so happy that i get the chance to table this time 🥹🥹🥹
Thanks for the interest folks ;_; I went ahead and added it to my ko-fi shop for those who want one but can't make it to Portland!
(Since I'm tabling this weekend and next, I might be a little slow sending them out, but i'll do my best to do it asap, definitely within 2 weeks! Thank you ;v; )
So this zine managed to sell out twice, and your guys' support on it kinda actually changed my life. ( <- I've been anxious to say it that bluntly,.. but it's true.) Thank you, seriously ;_;
For this reprint, I made a new cover (since the old one was just a repeat of one of the inner illustrations), and also added one more ecoregion: The High Desert :D So now it has:
The Coast Range
The Valley
The Cascades
The High Desert
I'm definitely going to expand on this idea into a bigger project as soon as I have a bit more time-- like an actual book :") But this will be the final version of the zine! Thanks so much again yall.
