Vox's thing being envy is so good, there's much to chew on there. For him, envy is this tangled mess of ambition and insecurity. Like the reason Vox is envious is because he is insecure in himself so to try to concur that insecurity, he tries to gain power/adoration/status (because those three things are functionally the same for Vox).

Envy is why nothing is ever, ever enough for Vox. It's the reason, in Alastor's words, "he's broken from the start" because he is insecure and unhappy with himself so turns that outwards and tries to take things from other people that he thinks will make him happy. His meteoric climb in life was fueled by this envy led ambition where as soon as he had something it wasn't enough because there was always someone above him, another level for him to not be on and instead to be jealous of. All the people he kills and replaces, are above him in his imagined hierarchy.

The people he kills but never seems to take their place comes from a place of being envious of the attention they're getting but seeing them as his inferiors. We can see this best with how he treats Angel Dust.

I think it's very clear that Vox hates Angel Dust because he's jealous of the attention Angel Dust gets from Valentino. (Something that shows just how much Vox re-imagines the world to fit his reality because Angel Dust's relationship with Valentino is not even on the same planet as Vox's relationship with Val). So, Vox hurts Angel Dust and is gleeful while doing so. He thinks Angel Dust is someone below him, so rather than trying to imitate and recreate parts of Angel Dust, he just hurts him.

It's so good. He's insecure so that makes him envious of people who have things he doesn't which fuels his ambition to take their places because then he'll be happy right? If he just gets to the next level, if he just presents a good enough front, if he just finally, finally changes all the things that are wrong and weak about him then he'll be happy, right? Right?

Had this idea that Dick becomes hyper aware of how dangerous being Robin was after Jason dies. Yes, he had close calls and near misses and he got injured plenty of times but deep down it never occurred to him that he could have died. I just picture Dick laying in bed in Blüdhaven or balanced on a rooftop and it just hits him, how close he was to death so many times, how dangerous it was going out alone on patrol and disobeying Bruce, how many times he mouthed off to rogues or goons or pulled silly pranks to tweak their noses and laughed when they threatened him. Just Dick having a crisis and finally yelling at Bruce for not preventing him from donning the Robin costume and fighting. Just Dick and Bruce getting to grieve together and Dick taking more of a role in raising the next Robins as a way to mend the anxieties he has over his past.

and he loves making jason embarrassed

so one day jason is just minding his business on the couch, and roy starts blasting physical by olivia newton john

and at first he’s actually trying to be sexy about it—like full eye contact, slow movements, the whole thing

but then he gets carried away and starts doing the most obnoxious pelvic thrusts imaginable

and at some point he’s literally just flopping all over jason

and jason is just sitting there gripping the couch for dear life

completely straight-faced like

he won’t say it

but he thinks it’s hot as hell
