Studio Ghibli + Running Water 2
‘The Wolf of the West, he would come from the Mountains to save all’
This took me agesss but I'm so happy with how it turned out jijiji
It has been remarked by some that hobbits' only real passion is for food. A rather unfair observation, as we have also developed a keen interest in the brewing of ales and the smoking of pipeweed. But where our hearts truly lie is in peace, and quiet, and good tilled earth — for all hobbits share a love of things that grow.
Asexuals were always part of pride and it really fucking shows when people think it's a recent term.
Although not going by the term "asexual" yet, asexuality was spoken about alongside homosexuality as far back as the 1890s. Asexual history is just as vital to queer history as any other term and I'm so tired of watching us being treated like a new thing
This image is so so fucking important to me
Reblog this, cowards
Futzin about with watercolor paint alongs today, good way to pass a rainy afternoon. I think I like watercolor better than acrylic, generally, more room for error.
Bonus gumpy boy who screamed for an hour about my terrible neglect before very begrudgingly sitting down next to me:
I post for the bitches that used to get in trouble for reading under the desk during class in elementary school
As an older queer, allow me to say: the walls of the closet are load-bearing. It is our job as a community to stand in front of that door and tell everyone who wants to peek inside to fuck off.
There are so many reasons a person may choose not to come out and there is no reason a person would owe the public or a stranger that information. Certainly it's not owed simply because someone is famous.
We have fought for decades to make it safer for people to be open and authentic about themselves, but we are not yet there. And even if we were, the closet would still be something we need to maintain for those who are not ready to reveal that part of themselves.
May we never become so obsessed with representation that we forget the sanctity of privacy.
fitz is so deeply a cowed and coerced wolf among prey -- among bucks. the animal symbolism so perfectly conveys the farseers' fear of his potential and desire to control him -- shrewd, through cunning, attempts to befriend the wolf like in a fairytale; verity draws his power and makes it his own; regal attempts to constrain and destroy him. fitz, the wolf in buck's clothing, can pose nothing but danger for the farseer line as long as he remains unchecked, simply because of who and what he is. catalyst, changer, wolf. and wolves have no kings. robin hobb your brilliant animal symbolism --!

Last song: Thus Always to Tyrants, by The Oh Hellos; Dear Wormwood is a very spring album to me, so I've been bellowing along on morning drives.
Currently watching: The Pitt! Very interested to see how they stick the landing with the finale this week. And the Never Too Small YouTube channel! I have my own wee townhouse, and I like seeing tiny home builds and setups because they always have such clever storage ideas.
Current obsession: spoiling my cats with new toys, as we have a big household transition coming up and I want them to be feeling very loved, and also strawberry everything: strawberry tea and homemade strawberry sauce for cakes and oatmeal, strawberry jam on toast, strawberry smoothies...🍓
Currently working on: Growing a human 😂 I'm a solo mum by choice, with baby due in July. It's been surprisingly smooth going so far, though I expect I'm about to enter the most uncomfortable stretch. Between figuring out daycare and the 7000 things a baby needs, definitely the biggest project I've ever tackled. And the most terrifying. And exciting.
Last search: For a link to the D.C. Snipers episode of You're Wrong About, because I think it's a stellar podcast and those episodes blew me away, so I'm always eager to recommend them to friends
Currently reading: Woman, Watching by Merilyn Simmonds and The Serviceberry by Robin Wall Kimmerer, very much enjoying both. I'm in a bit of a slump with fiction at the moment, though considering a Project Hail Mary reread to get going again
Tagging anyone who sees and would like to play!
Full circle! @janeways-coffees tagged me (thank you!) so I'll re-bagel from a few weeks ago with some thrilling updates:
I have of course added new Noah Kahan to the bellowing along playlist, and it's wonderful and also as an ✨original vintage ✨ Supernatural brain rotted girlie, The Great Divide makes me think of Dean Winchester while Sam was away at school
I do think The Pitt stuck the landing! Already looking forward to watching these miserable doctors suffer another torment nexus in season 3
Growing a human still going relatively smoothly, bless my physical therapist. Still craving strawberries like mad, and getting very excited terrified excited to meet baby
Related to podcast search, Blair Braverman, one of my very favorite survival and nature writers, just put out a new podcast called What to Carry, What to Burn and I am VERY excited about it, everyone should listen to her stellar storytelling, it's like being around a campfire
Anyone who sees and wants to play an ask game should consider themselves tagged, I love getting to read about what other folks have going on!
do you guys remember that doll the Fool had in his room in assassin's apprentice because I sometimes think about it and become so sad because he was so alone there
I've wondered if he created the doll after a dream where he somehow saw a branch of the future where Bee came to exist, but I've re-read the description and I can't decide, especially since the doll showed up so early. Could Hobb have had Bee in mind that early?
– Animorphs: The Reunion, K.A. Applegate
Literally everyone should be so glad I didn't meet Fitz when I was 15. Absolutely rabid material for a wolf girl
I read the first trilogy when I was 12 and yeah. Look at me now 🐺

Sound on to hear how absolutely splish-splash lost in the sauce my goofy girl likes to get before having three sips of water. She's a kidney cat, so whatever it takes. We stan a hydrated queen 👑
