I figure it is probably time I made something resembling a masterpost now I’ve jumped into a second fandom. How-do, I’m LittleRit and you can call me Rit if you like :) I like colour, and nature, and crafts, and I drink a lot of tea. I have a self-certified biscuit addiction.

I’m a sometimes writer (AO3, #my fics), sometimes artist, definitely a tumblr queue-r and near always reader! As of July 2026 I have a sideblog for posting my art @littlerit-art - but I will also continue to reblog my art here on my main blog using the #my art tag.

I used to be good at organisational tagging for my reblogging, not so much any more, sorry! But I do use tags for my own posts including fandom and character tags, and my fics and my art where relevant.

I don’t run a curated blog in any sense of the word but my current fandom obsessions are Project Hail Mary and Legend of Zelda and associated fandoms like Linked Universe so you’ll see a lot of that. Current blorbos are probably Four, Legend and Link generally (BOTW/TOTK more specifically). I’m trying to avoid major spoilers for Echoes of Wisdom as I’ve only just started playing it.

How I use Tumblr: I’m gonna put this here cos I probably use it a bit weird! I reblog things I like, things I want to share, things I think are funny, things I think my mutuals might enjoy (like putting out food to make friends with a cat). I rarely use the ‘like’ function. Stems from when the search function was really shit and you couldn’t find things again (I mean… still is but seems to be better than it was) so my ‘liked’ posts are more of a private repository of posts that I’ll probably want to look at again such as a helpful art tip or a writing resource etc, so I don’t have to scroll my entire blog and hope I’ll find it. So please don’t take a lack of likes personally :) I also think a reblog is more powerful anyway, as it’s like ‘friends I saw this cool thing, do you also want to see this cool thing?!’. I do not know what communities are, or how to use them, so that part of the site is a mystery to me. I’m a big user of the queue function. The queue is currently 400+ strong so there are posts lined up for months at this point even posting 4 or 5 times a day. I may have whacked your cool art or headcanon in the queue rather than instant reblog!

Here’s the thing: authors know when they get a rec on an older story. There’s a telltale uptick of kudos (with a 10-15% comment rate if you’re lucky) in your digest email.

The thing is, there’s no way to know where these people are coming from. In the before, when fandom was more in the corners we all knew about, you could search LJ or a message board or whatever social bookmarking site we were using. You could join the community and participate.

You could get a little dopamine hit by seeing someone tell their friends why they loved your story.

Anymore, those recs are hidden in discords, or in tiktoks or instagram slideshows that you can’t search for. They’re inaccessible, not discoverable unless you’re already there. You may never know why 27 people left kudos on an old story of yours, what they liked and found in your writing. You just get the thumbs up and a kinda lonely feeling, cause these could be your people. You could like them, maybe. You could be friends.

But you’ll never find out why they stopped by, or what people are saying about you behind your back, and that’s sad.

So thank you to the people who still do public rec lists on this webbed site. You are my sunshine, and I’m appreciative of all of you.
