following on from Rapunzel!Four. More detail on chosen hairstyles below.

Vio keeps his hair in a central dutch braid, so it is out of his face and so that his sword hilt and bow/arrows are less likely to be caught in it.

Red likes the feeling of his two long braids down his back and them twirling when he dances

Blue wants his hair up and out of the way so it cant get caught in his sword hilt or overhead hammer swings, nor be a fire hard when he is in the forge. He uses a headband to keep flyaways out of his face. After experimentation they realised he could do an undercut without affecting Fours hair too much (its not THAT much thinner underneath Vio!) to reduce the bulk and size of the very grabbable-in-combat bun. When he tried to keep his hair short as Four’s grew out it lead to awkwardly dispersed short hair that stuck out all over so the Colours bullied him into keeping it long, the undercut was the compromise.

Green also wants his hair tidy and out of the way, but hasn’t gone for an undercut to reduce bulk so he keeps his braids coiled into two low buns behind his ears / at the nape of his neck, and uses a headband to keep any loose hair away from his face. The hair is too weighty to pin up, so he has learnt to turn his head slightly when he draws his sword to prevent catching it, on the days where he doesnt just wear his sword at his hip.

Four o Four, let down your long hair!

I saw @makiionfire’s art yesterday of Four brushing out Wilds hair and the idea of Rapunzel!Four has not left me alone since.

I wanna practice seeing what I can draw in under 30 minutes (like literally setting myself a timer) getting out the gist of something without getting drawn into the details etc (I also want something smaller to work on while I chip away at a WIP)

So uh, no promises on what style will come out or brushes I'll use or how many days it'll take me to get round to it but if you fancy throwing me an idea or request in the ask box feel free!

Paris Haute Couture Week 2026

I read the @bonus-links comic earlier this week for the first time and fell in love with this older windwaker Link design. He is so fun, and cheerful and cheeky, and very unapologetically himself the pirate.

(I also love how the artist draws him with a mouth in the shape of a heart when he is grinning thats such a cute detail i feel happy just looking at him)

I just had this strong image of him in the pose from the WW2 “we can do it” poster with the lady in overalls and a bandana pulling her sleeves up, and wanted to sketch it, and use it to practice line weight

i think i must accept that cuttlefish mer Four is not getting drawn anytime soon and share the concept sketches from way back in mermay 🫠

Why a cuttlefish? Because they have tentacles/arms and I thought hey thats fun considering Four can split himself into four, and also because they can change colours to disguise themselves / hypnotise prey and i thought that was also quite fun considering Fours whole colours deal.

I also thought it made him a bit of an odd duck among the more traditional single tailed mers, and I imagine that when he first met the chain he kept his arms close together and blended into a nondescript colour and clutched at some fabric to try and imitate a single tail for as long as he could to fit in.

I also thought it’d be super cute for the minish to be seahorse adjacent creatures (although the seahorse with arms sketch does look a little….odd) and for Fours minish mer form to be a seahorse! Going from eight arms to a single tail would be a bit trippy for him at first, nut also the seahorse is again not a standard mer tail and works differently to get him around. I just like a complicated Four 😌

Sailor Scout Links

I have been SO excited about these since i made them in March and have been unable to share them until now, but now the @lu-tradingcardevent is well underway I can finally put the Sailor Scout Links into the world!!

I was so stoked when @laugoscos shared their Sailor Scout Hyrule because yay! I wasn’t alone with this idea! Hehehe

it was really fun matching them up to a sailor scout. Time had to be sailor moon of course, because he is the leader but also, the moon lol. Wars had to be Venus, with his dashing looks and style. Wild has so much he can do with fire in his games and also has the longest hair, so Mars for him. Hyrule, lightning, ofcourse he is Jupiter. Cute Wind with his short hair and wind waker gets to be Mercury. Twilight is sailor Uranus but I couldnt find an iconic pose so it looks a bit generic sorry Twi, and Legend is Sailor Pluto so gets to bust out the rod of seasons! Sky and Four get to be their own icons, with their cards based on their official game art / teaser art. That iconic teaser poster for skyward sword before we had a title with Links back to us and no sword just screamed magical girl hero pose, especially as it lets him show off his sailcloth!

Link/Wild the Narwhal mer

When he’s not busy diving to the depths, racing or exploring under ice sheets, he loves to pretty himself up by donning strings of pearls or ‘shinies’ (aka lost rupees), or indulging in wearing silks to imitate the beautiful and flamboyant fins of betta mer folk.

The adding silks to imitate fins was inspired by @winedimples everyday is mermay headcanon for Wars who wears silks as a tail extension. Link/Wild doesn’t do it for that reason here, he just likes to feel pretty and experiment with his looks, and the added strength training from swimming with the drag of the fabric is a bonus!

So @laugoscos I'm not sure if you were serious in your tags askinf about how I did the colour for these, but here you are, here's the colours! I actually challenged myself not to use colour picker for these and to eyeball colours and adjust against the reference fish until I was happy with my palette. Unfortunately the video lapses show that bit so fast it's not worth me sharing!

Skin tones, hair and eye colours were just eyeballed rather than referencing anything. It was the fish I colour references for the mer designs. Hyrule, bless him, I did NOT colour reference from the leafy seadragon otherwise he would have been quite yellow and also I worried not as recognisably Hyrule due to the vague face I'd given him. So he got colour references from his comic outfit. Ditto Sky, although I didn't actually compare his colours to a comic panel, I just went 'eh close enough'

I followed @lemonheadart quick shading/lighting tutorial for this, then tweaked elements to fit my own style. It gave Winds skin such a warm glow in particular, definitely going to continue experimenting with it!
