Self Care and Love Language
Hey guys! Sorry I've been offline for a while now. I've been dealing with some personal things, but hopefully, Ill be able to be more active now that things have calmed down a bit!!!
So self care, in my definition, is the act of upholding and improving the relationship between your mind and body. Things like showering, sleeping, and taking my medications all fall under my personal definition of self care because it helps me maintain my relationship with myself. But how I further that relationship with myself has always been a tricky subject. I've gone through a lot of pain due to the inability to love myself properly, and I could never figure out what I could do to prove to myself that I'm worth my own time.
What I recently came to terms with was that I was showing others the type of love that I wish to receive, but I wasn't giving myself that same type of love. This is called love language. It's basically the act of showing appreciation or love in a specific manner that resonates with you.
Some love languages are:
Gift giving
Time giving
Affection
There's others as well, but those are some that I operate on. The one that resonates with me the most is time giving. The fact is, I prefer to receive time and attention from others as a sign of love. Taking this, I can practice self care in terms of giving time to myself. I can do activities that require time (like taking a long bath, cooking, reading, , working out, etc) to show myself love. It doesn't have to involve hours on end, but even five minutes in the morning before work, I can do a little face mask or make a bagel with cream cheese, just to show my body that I care about it.
Of course, this is just how I operate. For you, it might be gift giving, attention, time, or even affection. Like I said, there's many different ways to give love, and everyone uses more than one of these languages. My journey has led me to place time with others as the main way to give love.
Experiment with yourself, and try to love yourself a little bit more every day

Sexual assault is never your fault
It doesn’t matter what you call it
It doesn’t matter how it happened
It doesn’t matter who did it
It doesn’t matter where it happened
It doesn’t matter why it happened
It doesn’t matter
It’s not your fault

Always, always remember to love yourself. That's it. Just love yourself. Success starts with self-love. Because only when you are at peace with all that is YOU will you be able to tackle whatever life throws at you. And only then will you be able to live YOUR life happily.

It's going to be okay!
Think some positive thoughts! You deserve some happiness in your day :)
Try looking up positive things or something that you like. Maybe talk to someone that makes you smile.
The world is a brighter place with you in it! Don’t forget that!
Tea Recipe For Any Minor Illnesses
Hi guys!
My sister in law gave me this recipe to use since allergy/flu season is rolling around, and I need all the help I can get.
All you need is:
1. Any of your favorite tea (I use white teas or green teas)
2. Cinnamon bark (or ground cinnamon)
3. Ginger
4. Whole black pepper (ground black pepper works too)
5. Turmeric
Take a teaspoon of tea and a pinch of each other ingredient and add it to the tea mixture, let it steep for 3 minutes, remove the mix if you used a tea steeper, and boom! Wholesome tea! You can resteep it about 2-3 more times, but just remember to add a pinch of turmeric (or the other ground ingredients if you didn't have whole cinnamon bark/black peppers) each time

Wanted to share my new phone wallpaper because it's everything my recovery stands for, but in one cute little reminder - Ronnie
