Kelly Segal

A war veteran and an equal rights activist in his youth, a multi-linguist, a husband, a woodworker, a doctor of many fields for both the living and mechanical, this guy is probably one of the most interesting MAI alive. His eagerness to try new things and his generally soft-spoken nature make him quite easy to approach.

Aristophanes Freling

It's hard to best whatever Kelly has going on, but Ari is on pretty equal footing. With a ID of TG1-0001-0, he was the first Livastian Military AI ever produced. He left the war as a Major General, got arrested a few times for his activism alingside his wife, and in the present day works as a prosthetics engineer for both humans and LAI. Might be a little tired of it all, but he knows what he's about.

Lazarus Sasaki

Another pioneer of his clade, Lazarus was the first X-Class intelligence ever made, and operates as the head representative of the Livastian Alliance. Kelly and Ari were activists, and Lazarus was the one to heed their calls and orchestrate drastic change among all reaches of the alliance and the world beyond. Being an X-Class Intelligence, it also means that this guy is vastly larger and more advanced than most, with his walking body being little more than a puppet to interface with people.

Paris Amspoker

Youngest of the bunch is Paris, a spry little guy 17 years of age taking up an art conservator's apprenticeship in France. This is a little funny; having a French name despite having been raised in the Northeastern US. To put it frankly... he's a little stuck up. Not in an asshole kind of way, but Nothing bad happens to him Ever, and he absolutely revels in it.

There's plenty more characters that have the possibility of showing up for interactions and questions on this blog, but these four are the primary figureheads! If you're familiar with the world and want to ask questions to other characters, you're more than welcome to.

Why the Visuals Don't Break the Spell

Nothing ruins immersion like visuals that don't match. SweetDream avoids that by keeping the photos and videos consistent with the companion you designed, so she always looks like herself.

I got it when I was only 2 days old - I remember backing up into a metal fence because I was still getting the hang of learning my body shape without being able to see it - blind spots were tough back then!"

Kelly's gun isn't actually real anymore! Hasn't been for a long time, either.

When he crashed back in early 2000, his GAU was just one of the many things that got destroyed after his landing gear failed and he belly-landed. Although the rest of what was lost was able to be replaced, the gun wasn't a priority since the end of the war had long since passed by the time he was recovered. Even during the period where postwar MAI continued to be owned by the military, he'd been allowed to join MAISAR where a gun simply wasn't necessary. This meant - for a while - he was actually smooth-faced!

Later on, he did opt to get a "gun" reinstalled, but it was more of an oversized cosmetic peashooter with no real power behind it. He felt a little bare without one, and figured that it might as well be an interesting conversation piece.

Two things about Lazarus!

1) "Gee, Lazarus, why does CoreAegis let you have two bodies- wait, more than that?!" This is actually a quirk that Lazarus shares with a fair amount of other Livastian representatives. To save the hassle of needing to travel in order to meet with other reps and officials, Lazarus has simply had multiple identical avatars commissioned so he can pop up just about anywhere a friend or colleague is willing to store one!

2) Anything with flowy fabrics - due to their unconventional body shape, Lazarus has found their favorite type of clothing to be most often akin to formal dresses or robes. Although usually quite simple for the standard state of affairs, he's just as fond of visually striking and complex patterns for special events. The only constant? They always have to go nicely with shades of purple!

"I'm... Actually not huge on most clothes? Much to the chagrin of my wife. I think I look my best as I am, and even if it's a bit of a dated phrase, 'if it isn't broke, don't fix it,' no?

"If I really had to choose favorites, though, utility arm sleeves are always a safe bet. I particularly like the look of ones styled after 2020s streetwear, with the cosmetic zippers and pockets."

Raymond here - y’know, the writer of the blog. What I'll probably end up doing here artwise is restricting myself to ink-only drawing as a form of sketch/line practice: will likely also take some of the stress out of needing to make every drawing absolutely perfect. Guidelines

I'm seeing a lot of other blogs do this so uuhhh yeah I'll hop on that bandwagon -

• I'll answer asks and interact with characters from any fandom! If anything it'll be pretty entertaining to see these guys react to any characters with huge thematic differences to themselves.

• Yes I am 21+, but I will not be, nor do I ever intend to partake in rps with 21+ content. Gore... sure? Theoretically? Though I don't know how that would come up unless someone else's muse commits horrendous OSHA violations. But yeah call the rating on this blog... PG13?

• When I reply to asks and rps is up to so many different factors that I can't really give an estimate of when I might make replies. I uhhh do it when I do it! One day? One week? Several weeks, even I don't know - my time and motivation is a fickle mistress.

• This is a no-shipping blog - that would be a little awkward anyways, given the fact that two muses are married, and two abstain from relationships due to career obligations and personal priorities.

• It shouldn't have to be said in the year of our lord 2023 but no godmodding, thanks

kelly. opinions on bugs
