It has been a tradition for Sharon since she was a little girl, to write letters and send them to the people she cares for. As she grew older, and her careers adapted to be what they were, she began to find ways to continue her letter writing without jeopardizing her missions. She would never sign the letters with her name, only; ‘Until I’m home.’
Her letters never said anything about her missions, nor her location. They were often generalized, written about what is going on in her life.
To make sure that her missions didn’t cause a long period of no letters, Sharon made sure that they were sent somehow; she either posted them en-route to where she needed to be, arranged for them to be posted either by someone else or with the postal service.
Most her letters tended to be three months behind in the current date.
The last letter Sharon wrote was received by her elder sister Peggy almost 3 months after she was declared MIA; it was written a few weeks after she had been transferred to the NYPD to act as liaison between the police department and SHIELD.
I imagine you’re still upset that I overrode your decision and volunteered to take on this position, but I am sure you’ll forgive me in time. You always do.
You’ll be happy to know that I have settled in, though I do miss everyone dearly. Maybe I shall drop in and see you all soon, but only if he isn’t there. I can’t face him yet.
I heard that congratulations are also in order, I’m sure you’re over the moon. I wish I could be there to share in your happiness, but I shall do it in spirit instead.
My letters for Harrison and Amanda keep coming back to me as well, I don’t understand why. I am guessing he is either not interested, or he has moved and failed to inform me where he has gone.
There is not much else to report, but expect more letters soon.
Remember I love you dearly, and I hope that you can be proud of me one day.
