my roommate said young hoes cook on high heat for efficiency but I cook on low heat so I can do other things while I cook. so. for efficiency
Why does it feel like somewhere between mid-century and the early 2000s was the closet to The Future that we ever really got. Like we eventually reached a point where gadgets and innovations stopped improving quality of life and started degrading society to the point where it feels like we fully live in a post-future dystopia. Does anyone associate the Future with optimism and utopia anymore because all that comes to mind for me is like a $45.00 pack of Oreos
the cool thing about this app is you’re never the craziest one here
What's interesting is that the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced I can switch back to a dumb phone for texting, that I can switch back to an mp3 player for music, and that I can just use a notepad for random notes on the go.
I'd be a little miffed to maybe not have my email on the go, but honestly? That's not the worst thing in the world either. Most of my non-work emails can wait until I'm home at a desktop.
I don't have games on my phone 'cause I just end up scrolling on Tumblr or Discord, so that'd be the biggest hit: not having that to chat with folks. But - like... again, I could just wait until I'm home at my desktop...?
A calendar would be annoying, but I'm pretty sure they have dumb digital PDAs now. And worst-worst-worst-case scenario, I could probably get an agenda of some kind.
Like, the convenience was having everything in one place plus flashy lights. It's a luxury I could literally live without.

I'm gonna buy some CDs and cancel a subscription in January. That's my new year resolution: I'm off of Tidal, but since I'm in that "play the same 12 songs" loop, lemme just buy those songs.
