āTake your time getting dressed this morning; read a book, make yourself some breakfast. The world can wait.ā
ā The Art of Recovery (via themindmovement)
Always take a shower/bath with your phone nearby. With a decently charged battery.
When I say nearby I mean within reach if youāre lying on the floor. I often leave mine on the toilet seat. If I fall in my shower I can crawl out and reach up and get it.
Finish each day
Attitudes and Mindsets that can Change your Life
1. Knowing deep inside that you are good enough.
2. Believing you can do it, and believing you can make it.
3. Choosing to be grateful when you feel like complaining.
4. Choosing to hang in there when you feel youāve had enough.
5. Knowing each new day is a true gift and fresh beginning.
6. Valuing others, and treating others well.
7. Investing in people instead of chasing things.
First Aid & Sick kit
I recently came across this tip and I think itās brilliant, but havenāt yet done it. Let me know if you have any extra tips and tricks!
Always have a First aid/medicine kit and aĀ āSick Kitā to hand.
- The first aid kit, is well, a first aid kit. Bandages, burn cream, scissors, gauze etc. Keep in a location that is easy to reach - perhaps at the bottom of a cupboard. If you live in a house, it might be worth having one upstairs and one downstairs, in case you injure your leg and you canāt get down/up stairs.
- Keep medicines topped up. Always have a stock of hayfever tablets, cough syrup, ibuprofen/paracetamol etc, cold and flu meds like Lemsip or Beechams. Keep a decent box of tissues (like Kleenex) reserved to use if you get a cold suddenly.
- Create aĀ āSick Kitā - Canned soups, Pot Noodles/Super Noddles, perhaps a few herbal teas, your favorite chocolate/snack and some crackers in reserve so if you get hit with a sudden sickness you have food to hand that is easy toĀ ācookā and eat. It might be worth keeping a few plain flavored ice lollies in the freezer in case you get a vomiting bug. Sucking on the lollies helps intake your liquids.
Please note;
In addition to the above Iāve been made aware that syrup based medicines can attract bacteria if you are not actually using the medicine.
It might be best to keep medicine in tablet or powder form and regularly check the Best Before/Use By date to make sure nothing has expired šš¼
Iāve been really conscious of the environment lately and trying my best to reduce waste in all areas of my life.
I realised I was throwing away a lot of milk as it was over itās expiry date or was starting to go āoffā. So, I bought Coffee mate creamer. Itās a powder that is a substitute for milk. Itās actually quite nice. I think you can also get flavoured ones (hazelnut?) . It wasnāt too expensive - much much cheaper than actual milk. It was Ā£2.60 for 500g.
I will keep the tin for storage once Iāve used it.
I think itād be useful to take on short breaks or camping trips also š

Reuse magazine covers for grabbing fruit and veg at the supermarket.
Itās ok to be jealous and mad and sad and angry and any other ānegativeā emotion⦠Youāre not being toxic youāre being human. The point at which you become toxic is when youāre letting these emotions seep into how you treat others
I needed to hear this, hope it helps some of you too šš
Chicken and mushrooms in red wine jus
Feat. Red wine stock pots from Tesco
Diced chicken in a frying pan. Add leeks and red wine stock pot.
Stir occasionally and add a sploosh of water so it doesnāt dry and you get a bit of sauce going.
Add mushrooms. Cook till done.
I had mine with rice but I think mashed potatoes are better.
Itās not a one pot meal as such but almost. Can be quite salty just from the stock so wouldnāt add salt. Would recommend adding boiling water so the stock pot dissolves easier.
Iāve been trying this out and itās been quite helpful š¤
Remember
Living alone is hard - you do EVERYTHING yourself. Remember to take time out regularly to rewind, relax and recharge š
