And the numbers keep getting smaller...
Ok so I have now officially lost... *drum roll please* ............28 lbs!!!!!!!! *cheers* I am so happy and so proud of myself. I'm down 4 dress sizes, back to the size I was in high school. I put on a pair of size 18 jeans at Old Navy (the last pair I bought from them was a size 26). I bought a dress that was a 1X and previously I struggled to wear the 3X. At Ross, I also was able to wear size 16 & 18 dresses! It made my day! Yeah this journey is not over and not easy, but I'll keep going until I'm the healthiest me!
Working out works.... most diets don't!
I keep hearing these stories about people getting trainers and not losing much weight. I just think to myself what are THEY doing wrong. Are you putting your all into the workout, are you eating better. Instead they turn to the new fad diet. Sure they lose the weight but is it really healthy, is it gonna stay off? I don't know but I'm doing just fine with my trainer Sheneka Rosser. I put in my work and I am eating soooo much better. I have a treat every once in a while but I really watch what I put in my body! I have been very successful, and I am very happy with my results!
Treat for me
So, every once in a while I give myself a treat. Probably 1-2 times a month. Today's treat is a yummy cinnamon rolls!
I'll be working hard on this this month! Who's in it with me??? SN:Glad my bday is a rest day!
Love...
What is this thing they call Love?
So many people speak about it but do they really know its meaning?
Why is it that we have to fall in love, why can't we stand in it?
And if we fell in it, how do we fall out of it, are there holes in this love we fall into?
Is love a constant struggle to stay from the holes that cause us to fall out of it?
Or is this love we feel for each other transient, or somewhat flawed?
Is it like quicksand that pulls us down constantly until we fall through to the bottom?
Or may what we fall in and out of be an imitation for love?
It must be, because I just remembered this other thing called love and His name is God.
He also showed me what love truly is and this is what I found out.
Love is patient and kind
To whomever it finds
Love is not jealous, boastful, proud or rude
Even if on that day its in a bad mood
Love does not demand its own way
It lives for others day by day
Love never gives up, it endures the long haul
And it never fails, so it will never fall
So this thing we fall in and out of is not real.
What's real is the love that my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ showed us when he hung his head and died for my sins. He did not fall in love but he rose. My Lord rose in love so get up from your fall and and rise above!
More progress!!!
I'm down to 289lbs even with this pound of extra hair on my head! So excited and so motivated to keep going!!!
Great day!
Today I'm going to go see a friend and her new baby! So excited. I had a great workout this morning including 450 skips on the jump rope, 100 crunches, 50 weight squat thrusts, and a 1 mile run ( I went my fastest time on the treadmill at 14:40)
Revelation of Grace
As I was driving down the street to get my brother, this came to me: I was thinking about Murphy's Law (anything that can go wrong, does go wrong) and I thought that there must be a way to overcome or get out of that and it dawned on me that the way out is preparation and planning. Expect that the worse could happen and plan for it. Furthermore I thought about other laws and the gospel of grace. Laws are only applicable when you are under it. For example, the laws of the United States are only applicable when you are in the US. You can't use the laws of the US and take them to the UK or vise versa. They don't apply (though yes some may overlap). But you can't try to follow the US law of driving on the right side of the street in UK. It won't work. You'll be in the wrong and you might get yourself or someone else killed. With the law of gravity, it only works when you're in the gravitational pull of some object. If you're in space, outside of the force of gravity of earth, then gravity is not going to work for you and you will not be subjected to it. The same works with Grace. In the old covenant days, they were under the subjection of the laws God gave to Moses. But that ended when Christ came, fulfilled the law, died, rose again and gave us a new covenant. The covenant of grace. Christ in us has fulfilled the law! No longer are we subjected to the Law of Moses! Once we have accepted grace we are subjected to grace, not the law. That is amazingly good news, it is the gospel of grace! We don't have to strive to be perfect according to a set of rules and regulations, God has already fulfilled that through Christ and that same Christ is in us! Our righteousness is within us once we accept Christ. Also, the same as with the example of driving in the UK vs the US. If we try to make ourselves righteous by following the laws of the old covenant, it is detrimental to us. We try to follow them all, but we find out it doesn't work out when we keep trying NOT to do wrong in the eyes of the law. But when we just thanks God for and accept his Grace, not only will we be made righteous, but we know how to act righteous. We have the mind of Christ and when we fully accept Him and His Grace, we act as Christ! Wow! I hope I didn't miss anything and I hope it wasn't too long for you to finish reading. God bless you and congratulations, you have the Grace of God!!!
By the end of 2013 I’ll be in the best shape of my life…
Great Night!
I made it out of the house this weekend and had a great night at the SHiFT, young adult ministry at World Changers Church International in College Park. If you're in the area stop by. We meet every 2nd and 4th Friday from 8-10pm in the WCCI Fellowship Hall. Great discussions, food, fun and music!
Word for today!
And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].
Morning Workout
100-jumping jacks 90-crunches 80-squats 70-standing fire hydrants (35 on each side) 60-jumping jacks 50-crunches 40-squats 30-jumping jacks
That's a total of 190 excruciating jumping jacks, 140 crunches, 120 squats and 70 standing fire hydrants all equalling PAIN! But its good. I'll be ok!
Yep, I rock!
I know you all have been looking for this praise report so here it is! I passed my GACE Basic Skills exams with flying colors!!! On a scale of 100-300 with 220 being a passing score, I got a 263 on writing, 300!!!! on the MATH part and 294 on the writing part. The next step is my content exams. I am still believing for the $165 by Friday (Regular Deadline) to take the two exams ($70 for each exam with a $25 registration fee). Believe with me. Thank you so much, I am soo excited right now.
Morning Workout done! Did my #30daycc workout for the day. 5 minute jog to warm up. Then, I went for 22 minutes did 50 prisoner squats, 20 push ups side punches, 20 jump squat step backs, 10 opp-opps, 20 half burpees (modified), 50 crunch open closes, and 25 russian twists (I could not support myself to do the plank twists so did russian twists as a sub). Took the pic as sweat dripped into my eye!!!!
