i havenât made my own studyblr post in nearly a yearâŠ*sighs*
Well hereâs an update of my study space/room if anyone is interested! the last time i posted a photo of this area, it didnât have all those photos on the walls. But iâm really glad i have them now because every time iâm staying up super late at night trying to plow through some procrastinated homework, looking at all the different pictures makes my mood at least a little bit better :-)Â

question for college students
do you find it easier to take notes in a binder, multisubject notebook, or separate notebooks for each class? because iâve learned binders arenât really my thing though i feel theyâre much neater and easier to organize. but the thing is i have the flex binder thing from five star or whatever and itâs alright but i feel like itâs more of a hassle taking paper out and putting it back in and things because of how the rings are set up vs how binder rings are. but yeah if you guys could just offer opinions and your input on whatâs worked for you, what hasnât worked for you, pros/cons, etc. thatâd be great and i would really appreciate it.

Many of us have got deadlines, final exams, and project due dates coming up. This time of year can be very stressful and overwhelming. Â Below is a method Iâve started using recently and it helps a great deal! Most of the time, we procrastinate because we donât know how to get started on a task. Hopefully, this method helps you start getting your shit together.Â
What to do:Â
Create a brain dump of things that are on your mind.Â
On a separate sheet of paper, write the following:Â
What is on your mind
What do I have to do / what is the solution
How am I going to do it / what can i do right now to help
How long it will take to complete the task or reach the solution.
Color code based on time it takes or difficulty of the task. For example, highlight the task in green if it will take under 15 minutes, yellow if it will take between 15 minutes and an hour, and red/pink if it will take more than an hour. I have a post where Iâve done that here.Â
Start working your way through your to do list, starting with your green and making your way up to the red.Â
You can do this!! Take a deep breath, and kick today in the ass.Â

NOTE-TAKING TIPS!
heyyy!! heres a quick post explaining some of my fav note-taking methods and some tips that i find useful. these are for taking notes from a textbook :^ ). lets get started!!
where to start -
my textbook chapters are subdivided into three or four parts so i mark in the margin which subchapter iâm at. this helps alot when i look back on my notes and want to find a specific subchapter/topic. i usually write it in highlighter so its even more noticeable. plus idk it looks kind of cute hehe.
then i use the subchapter title provided by my textbook and write that usually in big blue ink. i always just use the textbook titles when making my notes.
advice -
draw diagrams, draw diagrams, draw diagrams!!! i know sometimes i feel super lazy when i make my notes and donât want to draw some diagrams but i force myself to!! its so worth it omg. idk i can really remember the material better once its visualized. with my teachers i get bonus marks for including diagrams so thats a plus!
write important notes in the margin! if i really want to remember a certain point i note it down in the margin so it really stands out. i can remember these points much much better and when looking at my notes my eyes go straight to the points.
use a different colour for vocabulary. idk if this is obvious this is just what i do. i pick a different colour for vocabulary and this helps me remember the definitions a lot.Â
donât use too many supplies. iâve tried to colour code my notes with 6 or 7 different colours and omg it takes way way too long. i usually use one black pen, one blue pen, a highlighter, and a coloured fineliner. this way i donât have to cap and uncap pens over and over again which actually wastes a lot of time hehe.
spice your notes up! sometimes to motivate myself to start making notes i search tumblr for some of those cute banner idea posts. i use these in my notes because i find them kinda fun to draw?? im lame sry.

Concept: I finish school. The job I work isnât my dream job but I enjoy doing it greatly still. It pays enough to cover everything I might need. My bills are never overdue. Money is not a thought in my head. I have a place to live. So do my dogs. It is nice and warm, I have some plants, my bookshelves are full, my sheets are always clean. There is time to read at the end of a day. I read a lot. Thinking is a good thing. I meet up with friends regularly, old and new. They love me. We make memories. I have nothing to be ashamed of. I travel a few times a year, always different places. The places I see steal my breath away. The people I meet teach me of life. They are good. There is no war. The sea calls to me and pay visit. I am independent. I am content.
Iâm so tired of people without depression describing depression as not seeing the good parts of life, not seeing the light, not seeing that people care about them, using phrases to describe it like âhaving blinders onâ.
Because while that is certainly true for some people with depression, itâs s u c h an oversimplification and to suggest that I and many others struggling with mental illness are just struggling because it prevents us from seeing the good things in life is ridiculous.
You can have depression AND ALSO: be happy sometimes. have fun doing things. know people care about you. feel loved and love others. And the list goes on.
Telling everyone with depression they are feeling bad because of an inability to do those things while many of them are doing all of those things is telling us we are somehow âdoing it wrongâ, experiencing our pain wrong, that our pain is somehow âless correctâ according to those people.
Mental illness is not something you can generalize. We look different, sound different, have different experiences, and process things differently. Donât tell us otherwise.
does anyone know of any posts about how to study science/biology/ecology?
