This summer Holiday our little artists have a task to decorate the Library in a unique way. My we came up the idea of recycling. We have chosen a very classic old lamp to rework on.

Summer School July 2017 Origami project with International School of Creative Art
The concept of the project is ‘Mutations and Recombination’. The idea of the project is to use the transformable origami and basic pleats to create design ideas can apply for Fashion, Architects, 3D sculpture, Graphic or other art pieces.
The students are mostly studying in high school, who came from Thailand, China, Japan and Russia. International of Creative Art is located in West of London. The summer school has been designed to provide them a wealth of exciting creative opportunities.
This origami project part of the course. It has helped the students build up the confidence of making. They have gained more knowledge of construction, pattern, calculate the proportion, function, etc.
Firstly, I demonstrated step by step to make the origami pieces with paper. Then take the design for further development. I helped the students to explore their creativity using different materials and equipment.
Plastic material V pleat. Insert the plastic sheet in between a pair of V pleat paper mold, put it in the heat press for 60 sec. Then let it cool down with the paper mold. The plastic was melted and reshape as the paper mold.

Awesome Origami and Brilliant Bracelets at Breightmet Library
Breightmet Library is getting more exciting in this summer! I’m very honoured to be one of the Bolton Library and Museum volunteers to bring the joy to the children and my self.
When I first start the workshop session in May half term there were only 6 children attended. And now we have over 30 children turned up for both of the last sessions (24th and 25th July 2017). Plus the guardians there were about 50 people in the class. The children are between 4-10 years old. So they do need quite a lot of support and I have to show them very slowly for each step. Without their guardian’s help, I will not manage to teach these massive groups.
Monday 24th July- Brilliant Bracelets
These boxes of plastic beads I have been kept in the storage for years! They were used on my previous clothing and accessories collection. Because I spent nights and days to made them out of plastic boards cut out by the laser machine. I thought it would be a pity to throw them away. So I promoted this workshop to the library because I believe this workshop is the best home for my beautiful beads. The kids call them candy beads! Many of them have made extra pieces as a gift to their family and friends.
This handmade perspex jewelry collection has been sold in ASOS Market Place back in 2012-2013.
The hardest job to make the brilliant bracelet is choosing the material. what is your 3 favourite colour strings? which beads you are going to use? Making is easy, just plait the 3 strings with the beads, like the girls plait their hairs.
Tuesday 25th July - Awesome Origami
You might think cutting a square piece of paper is super easy. Unfortunately, it’s not easy for the little ones. All the origami we are making in this workshop starts with a perfect square. We used these square paper to make chatter box, camera, tulip, lily, crane and more.
coming soon
The next session is in End of Aug. We going to make origami installation or decoration for the home. I’m very looking forward to it!
