Transgender Soldiers
Today my dad picked me up early from school, he was actually an hour late in doing so as he got me at 2 and said he’d get me at 1. Obviously I asked him why he was late and he told me he had “Transgender training” and I was extremely confused (and also worried) so I asked him about it. My dad is in the medical branch of the military so in 2009 when he joined that branch (he was originally infantry) he was taught that those diagnosed with gender dysphoria were to be turned away from the military but as of October that’s no longer the case and they are now to be supported. That’s great, right? Well, one guy in the room asked something along the lines of “So now we have to accept trannies?!” (Apparently he hadn’t meant to say it that loud. The guy teaching them looked at him and said “If they want to fight for their country does it really matter what’s in their pants?” And honestly I think that applies everywhere! They want a family, why does it matter what’s in their pants? They want to work, why does it matter what’s in their pants?
Why is this relevant right now??
