Respira!
Tai-Chi, Yoga y Pilates te ayudan a conocer a tu cuerpo y a sentirte mejor.

Also habe ich drauf losgeschrieben.
Horse-hobbying to Paradise
Paradise in Cies
A miracle has happened: It´s not raining. Suddenly the sun has come out, for the first time after a long and rainy week in Vilagarcia in Galicia. No one saw it coming. No one - except for Efigenia. Efigenia is 75 years old and swears to be able to forecast the weather with her skin and bones.
This week, she told me, “the sun will come out on Sunday, I can feel it in my bones”. Lo and behold, her bones didn´t lie. It is a bright sunny day and the sun is just on time because today a bus to Cies is waiting on the doorstep. So off we take the bus to a port town called Cangas to take the ferry from there to the island.
The bus is full of old couples who all have the same destination: Para Cies. Looking out of the window, I can see the beautiful landscape of Galicia. In the background there is latino and galician folkmusic. Ok, you do have to get used to the music and after a while I give up asking Javi about the lyrics. Poor Javi is blushing whilst telling me the content of some of the Galician and Latinamerican songs. Then out of the blue, we hear a song on full blast: Caballito de palo.
After clicking on this link you'll know what I'm talking about, and as I already said, it does take some, or a lot, getting used to. After knowing that the song was about nothing else than a hobby-horse I do start appreciating that I have my MP3-Player with me.
Once we then arrive in Cangas, we catch the first ferry to Cies. Off to paradise with our imaginary hobby-horse!
After enjoying the views from the lighthouse we walk all the way to the beach to relax a wee bit. I look around and I start thinking, without exaggerating, ‘wow this really is a paradise beach’. Then I start thinking about Dusseldorf. In Dusseldorf there is some sort of beach at the Rhine and it is called paradise beach (Paradiesstrand). Now I start realising how exaggerated that is. I do remember a paradise beach, but it’s not in Dusseldorf. Well, doesn’t mind, I still have great memories of that nice but not a paradise-after-all beach.
But enough daydreaming for today, back to the island, back to here and now. We continue walking a bit and decide to dare ourselves into the water. The Atlantic is usually very cold and all of Javi’s friends warned us that the water in Cies is always freezing.
Ok, so lets take it easy then and go slowly into the water. I start preparing myself mentally for my most beautiful and uncontrolable jesus-christ-this-is-bloody-freezing face expression. It' s totally not sexy but there' s nothing I can do about it when the water is so cold.
But nothing happens. Well, I am raising my eyebrows, but this is definitely not even close to my this-is-bloody-freezing expression. Either Javi’s friends wanted to pull my leg or I am witness of another miracle today: The water isn’ t freezing. Ok, it's pretty cold, but not freezing. Actually it's quite refreshing in the heat and you can, yes, you can swim. So that's what I then do for the first time since I’ ve been travelling around Galicia.
However, time passes and it´s slowly getting late. We unfortunately have to head back. Good bye beautiful island!
Then on the boat, I start chatting with a Spaniard who lived in Heidelberg for 20 years. In the middle of our conversation she suddenly says in German: ‘Schau da, schaue wie schön (Look there, look how nice)’. I turn myself around and there´s a dolphin swimming behind the boat.
Man nennt ihn Paradiesstrand.
Thank you for the flowers
I'm getting back home to la casa de familia Millos. I 've been staying here for quite a while and it has been great.Today Amalia, Javi's mother, went up to me; her face beaming with joy: “Moitísimas gracias...Tus padres Fran y Nely...”
She says some other things too, but my Galician isn´t even close to being good enough to understand anything. Anyway, from what I do understand, I figure the flowers my parents have sent for her must have arrived today so I reply: “De nada, gracias a tí.”
Then, she points onto the kitchentable: I see an envelope with a name, a street and a telephone number on it - why is there a telephone numbrer on it?- and next to it a huge bundle of flowers. There is a little card in the envelope with a message. Amalia takes the card out and lets me read it out loud:
TO AMALIA, THALK JOU VERY MUCH FOR JINS HOSPITALITY TOWARDS LUISE LOVE AND BET WISHES FRAN AND NELY Y GERMANY.
FRAN AND NELY? Well, it's probably not the Galician version of Ann and Neil. Nevertheless, thank you for the flowers and the charming message with its extraordinarily hilarious spelling. Both just made our day!
THALK JOU VERY MUCH!
TO AMALIA, THALK JOU VERY MUCH FOR JINS HOSPITALITY TOWARDS LUISE LOVE AND BET WISHES FRAN AND NELY Y GERMANY.
THALK JOU VERY MUCH!
Antique Coins
It’ s 39 degrees – in the shade. I don’t really want to know how many in the sun. Best conditions for flat hunting. Well, not really. Especially when one is as pale as I am. Equipped with a huge amount of suncreme, of course with sun protection factor 50, and a hat, I dare myself outside and walk through the city, through the streets, through the narrow alleys of Zaragoza.
Actually it isn’t too bad. It’s extremely hot in the shade but the notorious wind of Zaragoza is keeping us fresh- the heat is actually bearable. With less degrees in my previous extremely-hot-in-summer and my extremely-cold-in-winter flat in Düsseldorf, I’ve sweated a lot more than today. Especially this summer before and after the close-to-being-a-hurricane-storm, the heat was hardly bearable.
But back to Zaragoza, my new home for the next few months. Here I’ll be doing an internship in the English department of a public language school, so that’s why I am looking for a room. Why did I actually end up in Zaragoza? Well, I applied spontaneously and received a positive answer really soon. Shortly afterwards, I went to Madrid with friends for a week, where I found my amazing lucky-charm-key-ring and then it was clear to me: I am going to Zaragoza.
Ok, I should clarify. Do you know this feeling when you see something, and you desire or feel the urge to get a closer look at it?
We are at a market in Madrid. An old man is selling antique coins. I spontaneously pick up a key, because, well I don’t know why exactly, I just see this key and feel the urge to look at it and hold it in my hands. So that’s what I then do. I look at it. Something is written on it.
One word: Suerte. It’s a set of keys so I continue with the next one. Again: Suerte. The next one: Felicidad. The next: Amor. The last one: Zaragoza. ZARAGOZA!
The old man starts grinning, he knows he’s about to sell something.
And now I am here; ready for luck (suerte), happiness (felicidad), love (amor), ready for Zaragoza.
Well but one at a a time. In three days I´ll be heading off to Galicia to spend the summer there with Javi and his family.
All my bags are packed, I am ready to go - Again
The hardest part of going away is saying good bye. Even though you are sure you will see your friends and family again, when you finally get to the point of having to say good bye, I always have to stop myself from crying like a child who has just lost its favourite teddy bear. At least that's how I've experienced it and well, if I´d lose my teddy bear, I´d probably feel like crying too; even now and I am 22.
It´s probably the easiest to think of these 'good byes' as 'see you soons', like in the German 'auf wiedersehen'. But tell that to a child who has just lost its teddy bear! There is no guarantee you will ever meet again, the truth is, it is always uncertain.
It's not that I'm not used to 'good byes'. One year ago, I went for a semester to Greece, and had to say 'good bye' or rather 'see you soon' to many people. My best friend went to Spain and my other best friend stayed in Germany in Düsseldorf. I remember it not being too easy but of course, saying good bye to all your mates and to your family never is easy.
However, in Greece I had an amazing time. I travelled, learned many things and met so many great people that now belong to my best friends. And then again, I had to say good bye: Good bye and see you soon! ¡Adios amigos!
All in all, quite a lot of 'good byes' and 'see you soons'. And then I also met my boyfriend from Spain and ever since, we've been having a long distance relationship, which latterly means: I am pretty used to'goodbyes' and 'see you soons'.
But now things are going to change for a while; from long to short distance. My bags are packed, I am ready to go. - Again. This time to Spain.
