1. This guy is even using hard mode by doing it manually. You can attach the single sided jiggler to a bumper drill thingy (technical term) and it will open just about any lock the same way but faster, using power tools.
2. The purpose of picking a lock precisely is not to open a lock, it is to conceal that it was opened illegitimately.
Any idiot can kick down or door or bump open a lock, but a theoretical investigation will reveal the tampering because roughly picking a lock leaves scratches on the interior mechanism.
The pleasure and purpose of picking a lock perfectly is that you will not scratch the interior mechanism in such a way that reveals someone got in without a key.
Generally, the utility of this is not to steal something, because the theft will presumably be obvious anyway when something valuable is missing. You might as well just break open the door then, who cares, there’s already an obvious crime.
The reason you might want to carefully and precisely pick a lock so as to not leave any interior scratches on the mechanism or evidence of tampering is so that you can plant something in there that will get the victim in trouble without leaving a trail.
