He's doing so well
i bet the pain will end if i arrange a perfect enough sentence about it
The new Odyssey adaptation has inevitably gotten people talking about a Muppet version of it, and they’re frequently suggesting Kermit as Odysseus, Miss Piggy as Penelope.
I’m sorry but that’s thinking way too small, hear me out:
We need to have Miss Piggy as Odysseus, and Kermit as Penelope.
Think about it… who’s the more fickle, prideful, warlike one in that relationship? Who is absolutely ready to go ham, at a moment’s notice?
It ain’t Kermit
Miss Piggy tied to the mast while Statler and Waldorf heckle her from the sea
But who is the single human cast member in this tale? Who gets to put in an Oscar-worthy performance alongside the Muppets and what role are they to play?
There’s no single human, everyone is a Muppet except for one scene. Circe, played by Janice, turns Odysseus’s crew into humans who still behave animalistic and are all played by Academy Award winning actors.
Oh 🫢…

I finally watched Obsession, and… woof.
The ending. That ending. It… hits me. As someone with PTSD, someone who survived a sexually abusive relationship, as someone who spent a lot of my life being suicidal and mentally unwell and still lives to this day despite it all, it hit me really hard.
Bear got to die. Bear got to escape, Bear got to get away without any real consequences. And Nikki? She snapped back into place before she could die. He didn’t let her die. Never even crossed his mind as an option. She has to live like this for the rest of her life now, with the knowledge that she had been forced to hurt these people she cared about and herself, that she was forced into a relationship with a man who never really cared about her. However short the rest of her life is, she won’t ever get to die in peace.
So she screams. She screams, and she cries, and she curls in on herself, because that’s all she has left to do. And I really, really felt that. I really did. Because what else is there to do? You can’t undo that. You’re stuck with that, forever, and it’s not your fault but everyone in the world that you tell just simply won’t believe you if you talk about it, if you seek help, if you seek reassurance that you did nothing wrong because you didn’t have any choice in the matter. And it’s such a powerful ending. It really, really hurts, but it’s the perfect ending because that’s how so many people like her live. That’s how so many people like I live.
I really loved this movie. It was very well written, it exceeded my expectations, and just. Wow
Please stop being nonbinary too. God only created one gender. You must conform to that.
THERES ONLY ONE NOW?????
Ngl I totally forgot fandom discourse was a thing. I don’t care man, I have car payments
starting a collection
If I may submit:
something I don't see people talking about in Obsession but that pissed me the hell off is that I really think Bear started seeing Sarah as an option but only after Nikki became "too much". I'm not super sure how exactly to articulate this but like when he meets up with her in the car I felt like he saw that as potentially romantic and I do believe he would have kissed her if he had the chance, and when she dies I just don't think that he really cared what could have been if she had been able to go to school and follow her passions because he doesn't care about women's passions (exhibit a: nikki), he only cares what could have been because he just recently had the bright idea that he could date a woman who actually likes him. dude you didn't see her as an option a fucking week ago but now the person who's life you ruined is getting a bit much and now you think you actually want a really chill girl, fuck all the way off. can you imagine if Sarah had survived and Bear just completely revoked all of Nikki's autonomy and then was like oh actually you're kind of unpleasant when you're supernaturally bound to me I actually think I wanna date a different girl now. because that's what I thought he was gonna do when I first watched it
not me

watched nolan's odyssey! fascinating choice to replace titular character odysseus with armored matt damon, but i guess that's the directors prerogative
