*beaming like a proud father* Yes my children, learn from the not-so-ancient texts of Young Royals!
But on a serious note, I am so happy that there's such a clear homage to previous shows, and that there's acknowledgement that hey, this thing this other show did, was actually fucking genius.
And although I haven't personally fallen into the Heated Rivalry obsession, it makes me so happy seeing how powerfully it has gripped people, and how new viewers are surprised at how obsessed you can get with a silly little TV show... I know, SKAM had its claws in my heart for years. It also makes me so happy that when the Heated Rivalry fans ask for other shows, similar shows, shows that can make them feel like this, the most recommended ones are usually Young Royals and SKAM.
I love it when underdog shows just surprise you by being actual diamonds. Comparatively small budgets, small expectations, but a production team that cares, and of course stellar unknown actors that turned out to have insane amounts of talent and chemistry on-screen. All shows got intimacy just right. I remember that one of my first epiphanies watching SKAM and trying to figure out why it was so much better than anything I had watched before it, was that the actors put the hands in the right places! It feels like such a small detail, but it makes such a huge difference, and from what I've seen so far of Heated Rivalry, it also gets that part just right.
Going quietly insane again about the ways that Cordelia completely defines the narrative of Brothers in Arms, without ever setting foot on the page.
The fact that everything Miles does in that book is a response to the ethics his mother taught him, and the way those ethics completely blindside Galen, because Galen thinks of Miles as Aral Vorkosigan's son, and not as Cordelia Naismith's son. The way that Galen came to prepared for a fight against the ruthless militaristic opponent that he imagines Aral to be, and never for a second imagined that his enemy would look at the weapon he had purchased and honed for this purpose and say:
That's my baby brother and if I don't get him out of this my mum is gonna kill me.

i hope something good happens to me. i hope something good happens to you too. i hope something good happens to all of us soon
One time I was leaving a friend's place and an older lady with basically no English came up to me and communicated that she was very cold and needed a ride. She pointed to tell me where to go.
I got there and her daughter or granddaughter came out and was like omg her phone died we were worried
And then the older lady said something and the younger lady translated.
"She knew she could trust you because you have pink hair"
I thought it was funny at the time. But when I think back on it I think she was basically saying "you had a visible sign of not vibing with the system I was afraid of"

Every time this makes me laugh so hard I almost barf idk why I'm so weak to this
One time, while working in the drive-thru, I accidentally mixed up "I'll see you at the window" and "I'll have it for you at the window" and said "I'll have you at the window."
