really love how chu wanning has a husband with multiple personalities -- someone who has aspects that are often frustrating, infuriating, childish, selfish, and paranoid -- but when mo ran asks him point-blank if he loves mo-zongshi more than taxian jun, chu wanning tells him it's all the same. it's all mo ran.

chu wanning never tries to remove taxian jun from mo ran. he never suggests it. he would rather kill himself than kill any part of mo ran. chu wanning doesn't love him in spite of his mental illness (which, to be very clear, affects both aspects of mo ran). he simply accepts it as a part of him.

This is why I don't understand when people complain about TXJ resurfacing too. Mo Ran 2.0 has never not been TXJ. TXJ is all his trauma manifested and of course Chu Wanning loves him like this too, because this is a reminder of all his suffering.

Yeah, second to all of this. Taxian Jun is not a separate individual. He is part of Mo Ran that was left behind in the botched soul migration. He's that part of Mo Ran that loved Chu Wanning the most in the fucked up manifestation of the curse. Mo Ran can never be complete without Taxian Jun. Chu Wanning understands that truly and that's why he can't ever imagine living without one or the other or loving one or the other more.
