Hua Cheng was a Supreme Ghost King, it meant that no matter who or what you were, you could never even come close to beating him.
For centuries, he’s been roaming the Three Realms, garnering power and riches, fighting heavenly officials, ruling the unruly Ghost City.
Time passed and tales of the Ghost King started to spread, stories of passion and cruelty, wits and violence.
But all of those stories came to the same conclusion, Hua Cheng, Blood Rain Seeking Flower, was invincible.
Who could have known then that something had already vainquished the mighty ghost: time.
He had spent centuries, if not millennia, searching, but to no avail. And after all this time, he could not even remember it.
Searching for ..... something, no, someone? He wasn’t sure. All he knew was that there was a hole in his unbeating but sore heart, and that he needed to fill it.
Even without knowing what it was, Hua Cheng kept on looking, he wouldn’t allow himself to give up. Something told him that the thing he was looking for was very important, maybe the most important thing in the world.
Hua Cheng had just finished exterminating a bunch of demons who were trying to wreck havoc in Ghost City. After torturing one of the useless shits, the latter revealed to him the hiding place of their boss.
He should hurry up and get back, he thought. He had finally managed to advance in his searching, or at least that’s what he felt. There was this book he found about a plague and a crown prince, and he weirdly felt drawn to it.
Well, he should hurry and kill the useless piece of shit so he could read it.
After easily finding the demon’s lair, Hua Cheng was ready to make that bastard die a second time.
He entered the dirty cave. It smelt like human blood. And walked into what seemed to be the main chamber. It was dark but Hua Cheng could discern a figure sitting on a throne.
« Blood fucking Rain, what in this ancestor’s name are you doing in my lair? Oh is it because of the minions I sent you? Serves you right you fucking piece of trash, you deserve to learn some fucking respect », the demon spat and stood up.
Hua Cheng was about to kill that useless trash when he suddenly stopped in his tracks.
That face. So it was what he was looking for all this time. He suddenly felt complete as tears started to fall from his eye.
« B-Beloved? » he whispered, almost pleaded.
For the first time in his life (and unlife) Qi Rong really did not know what to say.
