Hello you! I assume most stumbling upon this blog don’t know much about me, so consider this my obligatory get to know me post.
-First off, Hi I’m VCR or Vee (we’ll get to that.) I use she/they pronouns and mainly plan on posting visual moodboards and fan-fiction.
-Now you may be asking yourself “Vee, what’s with the ominous (we’ll get to that) ?” Well, I’ve decided to keep as much info about my presence on this app private and separate from any other accounts I run; that includes a handle change and a pen name. I did this for two reasons
1. I posted a lot of cringey stuff on my older accounts, so rather than go sifting through them deleting and archiving posts I figure I should just take this as an opportunity to start anew.
2. I’ve written and been a reader of fan-fiction for years, however I’ve never written smut. I feel starting this account will give me the space to do write smuttier work without judgement. Now I’m sure the small community of followers I have wouldn’t care if I started writing mature content, but I’d rather just have any expectation of my work be completely discarded while I explore new things.
-“with that out of the way what else should we know about you VCR?” Well, I’m so glad you asked me-writing-as-a-fan-submission!
I’m a huge film geek! I absolutely love movies and most of my free-time is spent watching movies. I pretty much like anything visually interesting, tragic, gay, funny, or gore-y. (Preferably all of the above.) I do have a Letterboxd, but because of the aforementioned I’m not going to link it. Sad days amirite guys? You’ll probably get a few shit-post pertaining to whatever bullshit I decide to watch anyways though. I’m truly nothing if not opinionated. I never really say I have a “favorite” film because I feel like that so genre dependent or even mood dependent, but for a number of months I have been hyper-fixated on Kevin Smith’s Clerks (Expect fan-fiction.) so do with that what you will. Upcoming screen-writer guys jus’ you wait.
Aside from film I’m also interested in writing, (duh) art, music, and spirituality. I’ve only recently got back into art with sketching, but before that I was taking oil painting classes. I try to keep myself busy with my adult arts-n-crafts time y’know? Brain stimulation or whatever.
For me music has been a lifelong love. When I was younger I actually wanted to pursue music as a career (life has other plans as per usual.) I’m actually planning on taking some guitar lessons or at least trying to learn a song or two at home with my acoustic. So yay for creative expression! I don’t really have a set genre I like either, but my favorite artists are Julia Jacklin, Alanis Morissette (god), and Sublime!
As for spirituality I mainly align myself with a lot of pagan beliefs and practices. Divination has a large part in my spiritual thoughts, and using tarot cards has become a regular practice for me. You probably won’t hear me talk much about my spiritual thoughts here, but nonetheless it is something that interests me a whole lot! My views truly expand everyday.
Fineeee I’ll talk to you about my writing! *giggles and twirls my hair* I’ve been an avid reader and writer from childhood. It’s always been something I’ve pursued, which is why I’m writing all of this now and why I made this account in the first place. I don’t intend to post my more “personal” works on here solely because I want there to be a separation between my fan-fiction and regular writing. I feel like one of the greatest things about fan-fiction is that you don’t need to rely merely on your noggin’ since it’s already got its own pre-existing characters and plot lines. For me it’s a great opportunity to expand my writing skills, but without the pressure of fucking up my own work. This being said aside from the stuff I’ll post on here I do write poetry, articles, and fictional stories. This is probably the best time to mention it; my posting schedule is probably going to be a little messy. I have frequent battles with my mental health among other things that make it difficult for me to constantly be writing even when I want too. If I upload something that says it’s a first chapter please don’t deck me if I release the second chapter way later. BUT this is also why it’s a huge bonus for me to have this outlet that is just for fun and does not place too many expectations onto me!
Lastly, I roleplay! I’ve been roleplaying since about 2018 (sheesh) off and on. I don’t know if I’ll use this account to try to hunt for new partners anytime soon, but by the time I have a fandom list out if you see any character/fandom you like my private messages are open and I’d be 10000% open to discussing a roleplay.
