Sasuke thinks he is going to be subjected to Naruto's friends. He's not wrong, but also not entirely right.
When Naruto and he are out for a bite, they encounter Shikamaru who is not exactly happy to approach them for a chit-chat, if only because it is painfully obvious he'd rather Sasuke not be there. It's a shared sentiment.
Shikamaru remarks about how the two seem to be attached by the hip. Naruto furrows his brows and bites his lips, obviously insecure about something. Sasuke knows and while he is not enthusiastic and he does not need to see other people, he is fine, he recognizes that Naruto very much does, so he excuses himself to the bathroom and only goes a couple strides away to give them some privacy.
He tunes in his hearing and it is not hard at all to listen to Naruto's rant about what Sakura said and how he is not sure Sasuke is not annoyed with him and what if he wants to see other people?!
Shikamaru tries to reassure Naruto that Sasuke is probably fine but Naruto doesn't relent.
Naruto then pleads with Shikamaru to please, please, please help him organize a night out with their friends so Sasuke can at least see other people and choose if he wants to spend time with anyone else. Which Sasuke very much will not do.
He is pleading internally that Shikamaru shuts the idea down but the laziness in that man seems to even extend to fighting verbally. Shikamaru relents and Naruto thanks him.
Sasuke makes his way back.
"Sasuke! Hey! What do you say about a night out with everyone?" He asks, all happy and enthusiastic.
"I say no" Sasuke replies without hesitation.
"Well- you're going anyways! We'll have fun!"
Shikamaru and Sasuke seem equally displeased.

The night out ends up being at Ichiraku's, because the old man and his daughter seem to be the only servers that will tolerate Sasuke and the rest -including Choji- because they genuinely like Naruto and not out of duty or gratefulness for the oh-so-great hero.
Naruto drags Sasuke in fashionably late. Everyone says hi to him and Sasuke by extension but the atmosphere gets immediately awkward once they actually take a good look at them.
Sasuke hates to admit it, but this was Kakashi's idea.
A couple of days back, the man took a turn to babysit him and while they began with their usual routine of silence and observation, the man eventually snapped his book shut and sighed loudly.
"I heard Naruto is taking you out with the rest of the rookies" Kakashi says, making it sound like they are hanging out with children out of the academy and not a bunch of jounin.
"Out of some misguided duty" Sasuke grumbles, not unwilling to complain even if it is to Kakashi.
"Well, I know it can be uncomfortable but you don't have to be nervous" Kakashi reassures and only gets a confused brow up in response. "You know? Having wanting to kill them all at least once in the past? I'm sure you'd need some support to not feel judged or intimidated. But don't fret, I am sure Naruto will be more than happy to accommodate whatever you need"
Sasuke knows what Kakashi is saying, although he doesn't entirely understand why.
"Sure..." He replies and thinks while Kakashi goes back to reading.
"Why are you- agh!" Kiba begins and is immediately interrupted by Shikamaru with a kick to the shin.
Why are you holding hands? Is clearly what he was going to ask.
"You were going to ask an uncomfortable question. Why? Because your emotional intelligence is as l- OW!" Shino is kicked on the shin too and Sasuke almost cracks a smile, he had never particularly disliked Shino.
And as a cinematic type of foreshadowing, the rest of the night was uncomfortable.
Sasuke made sure of it, Sakura was there, obviously. Getting poked by everyone in the least discreet means possible, inadvertently, of course, but completely helpful to his plan.
Sakura had apparently said the same thing to everyone: Sasuke needed to see more people.
And Sasuke displayed shamelessly how comfortable with Naruto he was and how willing he was to socialize but how little of a fuck he gave about everyone else.
Naruto was oblivious to the oddity of the situation because Sasuke behaved this way in front of him all the time, he had no outside input because Sasuke wasn't allowed out much.
In addition, whenever people mentioned something about the past, something massive Sasuke missed, something that could be uncomfortable to him, Naruto made sure to shift all his attention to Sasuke to include him in the conversation and hold his hand again if he had let go of it.
Naruto ended up being the one shifting Sasuke's attention to him most of the time.
At the end of the night, Sasuke did have fun.
It was especially precious to make Hinata squirm whenever she tried to call for Naruto's attention and Sasuke ended up stealing it away from her simply by shifting on his seat.
Everyone exchanged quick goodbyes and Shikamaru patted him in the back with a resigned expression.
Laying down and facing each other, Sasuke confessed.
"It wasn't so bad... going out"
Instead of an enthusiastic agreement, Naruto hummed deep in thought.
"Everyone is great! But, I have more fun hanging out with you... Don't say that to anyone!!!!!"
Sasuke wasn't going to but the reassurance filled him with contentment.
I was craving some menacing badie Steve because we didn't get enough of that. Think he just ended up looking like he's about to take his last breath though, whoopsie
• I decided to make all Uchiha pegasi bc half of them have bird-releated stuff (Sasuke, Itachi, Shisui...).
• Madara became a natural alicorn when he developed the rinnegan. So did Sasuke but bc he only has one eye his horn and wing (which he lost in his fight against Naruto) are made of magic and he can manifest or hide them at will.
• When the rinnegan is transplated, the user also gets a horn and/or wings, but it's much more unstable and hard to control (which is why Obito's horn looks wonky).
• Kakashi didn't become an alicorn when he got Obito's eyes, he only received a projection of his wings and since he’s already a unicorn he looks like an alicorn for the short time he has the power.
• Both Madara and Hashirama had the same cutie mark bc they were the founders of Konoha. That's also a reason why Madara crossed it.

I don’t know why people are so mad here, I always knew it would be open ending with the Stancy thing. Honestly, the ending was perfect set up for fan fiction and I love that hehehe
