i want to put my thoughts behind this: this was supposed to be a piece for pride month, titled "you were loved". the sky is the color of the aroace flag (just upside down)!

basically, i wanted to show an aroace person — an old aroace person, to be precise. being aroace myself, i am always told that i will forever be lonely and miserable if i don't get a partner. so showing grace, who is aroace to me, as old and happy and fulfilled and oh so loved by his best friend, was really important to me <3

I know the world is being brutal to us right now, but as a community we are some of the most resilient people in the world. We've always been here, and we are never going away. None of that takes away from how horrible this is, it doesn't ease the suffering that the majority of us are facing but its the truth, and I hope it can at least give you some hope.

I want to especially send love to my Black, Brown, and Indigenous Trans brothers and sisters, to all of our trans siblings facing genocide, war, and famine throughout Southwest Asia and North Africa. To our trans siblings with high support needs and intellectual disabilities, to all of our trans siblings living in unsafe homes or on the street, and to every single intersex person- cis or trans, our rights are inextricably linked.

Now of all times we need to be gathering around and supporting the most vulnerable of us. The Medicine Wheel teaches that our own health depends on the health of our community- none of us are truly safe until all of us are.

Stay strong for each other, show each other grace, patience, and love, and never give up on yourself.
