There goes another semester. This semester has been good even though there were down parts. Every semester has its ups and downs, it is up to you to make the best of it. I took open six classes at the beginning of the semester because I knew I could handle it but I got into my sixth class late and I missed so much that I had to drop it because there was no way I could catch up. It was an economics 200 level class which was a little harder than I thought it would be; mostly because the professor didn't seem to know how to teach, she kept going off topic everyday and we couldn't learn much. That left me with five classes. They were theater, anthropology, Cwp, criminal justice and UNC. I love all these classes mainly because all the professors really engage and make the course interesting so students are excited to come to class and learn something. Theater was a weird class because I thought we were going to be learning about plays but half of the time we were talking about how Greeks and Romans lived and Realism and stuff that I didn't think is related to theater at all but I am not the professor so I just had to go with the flow. Another class where the professor always went off topic was Anthropology. For the first two weeks, all she talked about with us was her trip to Turkey and her experience there. She told us about how a family took her in and for the time she was there, she was basically their daughter. She did chores and learned how to cook and a lot of other stuff; don't get me wrong, I like to listen to people's stories but it gets annoying when that is all you talk about for almost 2 weeks and I have to get up from my bed, walk to class and listen to your story. She finally got into teaching us about anthropology. I didn't think it was an interesting subject but the more we learned about kinship, and how cultures and some countries are and the things they do, I liked it a lot. It made me realize there is a lot of different things and forms of tradition out there. I really enjoyed learning about how marriages work in different countries and we watched a bunch of movies on how people live in China and how they struggle to make a living by working in factories with bad conditions. Changes need to be made in such countries.
